Your challenge

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Financial Controller to join our finance team at our global headquarters in Amsterdam. This is a key role responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, robust internal controls, and strategic financial insights to support our global operations. You are in the midst of the finance organization and are the linking pin between the finance department where you will work closely with the Financial Control team, the Commercial Control team, the Accounting teams and the Data analytics team.

As a growing, ambitious company, this role will offer you challenges in a.o. IFRS accounting, reporting, (cash-) forecasting, risk- and internal controls, merger & acquisitions support and finance process optimization. The ideal candidate

For this role, we are seeking a finance professional with a background in external audit and experience in reviewing period- and year-end closings. You combine precision with pragmatism and bring a structured, scalable approach to strengthening the financial control environment. You have a hands-on mindset and are not afraid to dive into the details when needed.

Your responsibilities

  • You are part of the financial control team, and an essential contributor towards achieving the overall objectives for the finance organization
  • You will play a key role in the preparation of the annual finance statements in accordance with IFRS, you oversee and coordinate the preparation of its contents and are in direct contact with the external auditors
  • You participate in the monthly reporting- and forecasting cycle and your direct responsibility includes ao EBITDA reconciliation between statutory- and management accounts, conduct balance sheet reviews and ensure accuracy and completeness of accounts. You support in cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning
  • You act as the controller and business partner for the HQ Back office functions
  • Support mergers & acquisitions with financial due diligence and integration planning
  • You understand and challenge the financial processes and will play a key role in maintaining key process descriptions and support in execution of processes
  • You are looking for continuous process improvements and will be driving ERP and ERP related application enhancements

Experience and Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business Economics, Finance, or a related field, completed with an RA title
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience, ideally gained within audit (Big Four or similar), with exposure to IFRS and complex group structures;
  • Knowledge of management control, process improvement, internal control, planning and control cycles.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Technical and functional skills

  • Solid knowledge of IFRS, accounting principles, and financial reporting at group level;
  • Skilled in working with ERP systems, experience with NetSuite is a plus, as well as ERP migration experience is a plus
  • Skilled in analytical reviews and cash flow analysis;
  • Advanced Excel capabilities; familiarity with Power BI tools is a plus;
  • Capable of designing and maintaining robust reporting structures
