The Position

We are looking for a Measurement and Inspection Engineer to strengthen the Manufacturing Engineering department of Fokker Landing Gear in Papendrecht.

As a Measurement & Inspection Engineer you will provide manufacturing engineering capability to operational and development programs to enable and deliver zero defect products utilizing engineering and problem solving skills.

Fokker Landing Gear

Fokker Landing Gear, part of GKN Aerospace in Papendrecht, is a recognized specialist in landing gear and related systems. We focus on the design and development, production and assembly of complete landing gear systems, as well as the repair and reassembly (MRO) of systems already in use. In doing so, we work on the most famous aircraft and helicopters; think of the Apache combat helicopter, the F-35 Lightning II (JSF), the Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 and the multipurpose NH90 maritime combat helicopter.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as process owner for Measurement & Inspection, role which includes:
    • Development of M&I Strategy,
    • Process development to NADCAP maturity,
    • Development & monitoring of process requirements and KPI’s,
    • Process manual development,
    • Development & ownership of QMS M&I Process,
    • Hardware requirements definition,
    • Software requirements definition,
    • CAPEX.
  • Act as key member of APQP team providing inputs to the PFD-PFMEA-CP,
  • Hold responsibility for Quality Control Plans,
  • Define Measurement System Analyses,
  • Develop (CMM) Inspection Plans as result of the Quality Control Plan output,
  • Develop and write advanced CMM programs using ZEISS Calypso software to inspect aerospace metal components and assemblies,
  • Interpret complex engineering drawings, CAD models, and specifications to create effective measurement strategies,
  • Apply strong GD&T skills according to ISO and ASME standards to ensure accurate and reliable measurements,
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to CMM programming and measurement processes, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum accuracy,
  • Maintain and update CMM programs, documentation, and records in accordance with aerospace industry standards,
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to optimize measurement processes and techniques,
  • Ensure strict compliance with all aerospace quality standards, regulations, and customer requirements,
  • Conduct first article inspections (FAI) and generate detailed inspection reports for aerospace components.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Manufacturing Technology),
  • Proven experience as a CMM Programmer with proficiency in ZEISS Calypso software - at least with Calypso Basic certificate (Advanced, Curve/Freeform, Planner is advantage),
  • Extensive experience operating ZEISS CMMs (Accura, Contura or Prismo),
  • Strong understanding and application of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) according to ISO and ASME standards,
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail,
  • Insights into how CMM work and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently,
  • Familiarity with ZEISS PiWeb (Monitor, Designer & Planner) is an advantage,
  • AUKOM certificate (Level 1-3, GD&T) is an advantage,
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications,
  • Demonstrated experience in inspecting metal components for aerospace applications,
  • Fluent in English with excellent communication skills.
