Job Description

As a (Senior) Scientist, you will be involved in meaningful innovations while supporting our sleep & respiratory care business. You will take part in research projects that address challenges for Sleep & Respiratory therapeutic solutions and in this way create impact for our business. In this role, you have the opportunity to contribute to innovative solutions in the field of home respiratory care. We are looking for an enthusiastic scientist with a strong background in biomedical engineering.

Your role:

  • You will be part of our Sleep & Respiratory Care division based in Eindhoven and work with multi-disciplinary (global) teams on projects that focus on innovations for our Sleep & Respiratory Care product portfolio.
  • You will have the opportunity to contribute to innovative solutions in the field of sleep and respiratory care, to test and validate them.
  • You will carry out industrial research, enlarging relevant knowledge and bringing in new knowledge in the area of respiratory diseases, sleep disorders and comorbidities.
  • You will support in protocol development for clinical studies validating propositions.
  • Creating intellectual property.
  • This flexible role offers you the opportunity to work with international teams, while benefiting from a hybrid working model (spend at least 3 days working from the office and up to 2 days from home).

You're the right fit if:

  • You hold a Master’s or PhD degree in biomedical engineering, technical medicine or equivalent relevant degree.
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in an industrial research environment.
  • Experience with respiratory physiology is critical for this role and should have an understanding of the innovation opportunities, clinical needs, technology developments for respiratory care.
  • Background in setting up, running and evaluating clinical trials in collaboration with clinical partners is a plus.
  • Knowledge of chronic diseases such as COPD, OSA, heart failure, diabetes is a plus.
  • Experience with MATLAB, Simulink or Python is a plus.
  • You are able to multi-task and can work independently as well as part of a team.
  • You have a hands-on attitude and are able to show initiative to improve projects and are able drive/manage them.
