Internship Opportunity in Global Supply Management

We are looking for a motivated fourth-year Bachelor or Master Degree Economics or International Business student! We offer an internship opportunity within our Global Supply Management (GSM) department where you will have the freedom and space for your own initiative.

Welcome to our team
The GSM department is an essential hub in our organization. This department is focused on Global Supply Management, Sourcing Strategy and Projects which bring savings and continuous improvement. The team in Boxmeer consists of 7 employees, all of whom have extensive knowledge and experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Sourcing Strategy, Supplier Management, Project Management, Risk Mitigation, etc. The team works closely with other departments within the company to achieve the stated goals.

Your internship assignment
As an intern, you will be responsible for streamlining tenders related to packaging projects related to the purchase of (production-related) packaging materials. The starting point of the assignment is to make the tenders for our most important product. The result of the internship assignment includes an advisory report on one of the two topics based on your interest.

Your responsibilities

  • Data Insights & Analysis: Assist in analyzing purchasing and supplier history data to identify trends, optimization patterns, and areas for cost savings.
  • Product Maintenance: Support material monitoring, track changing items, and participate in product review to maintain optimal supply levels.
  • New Item Exploration: Research potential new products, suppliers, and market trends, helping to evaluate new offerings and conduct cost-benefit analysis.
  • Vendor and Supplier Support: Help maintain vendor records, track supplier performance, and support purchase order management.
  • Providing a fresh perspective to the department by sharing your opinion.

The described tasks form the basic package and will often be performed independently after a proper training and learning period. These tasks may be supplemented with other projects and/or tasks on your own initiative or at the request of the organization.

What is required

  • Pursuing a degree in business supply chain management, business administration, finance or a related field
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Analytical abilities to evaluate market trends, cost factors and supplier performance
  • Technical proficiency in excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Problem Solving Ability and Proactive attitude and willingness to learn about procurement processes
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously are essential
  • Familiarity with project management and business strategy
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal (Spanish or Italian are a plus)
  • Available for a period of 6 months for 5 days per week.
