How do you make our customers happy?

By laying the foundation for a procurement function that indirectly supports 13.7 million customers with efficient, sustainable, and smart purchasing processes. As the Senior Procurement Operations Specialist, you’re our expert in solving complex P2P challenges and building bridges between Procurement, Finance, and the business. You transform our growing Procurement Operations from a largely reactive support function into a proactive business partner, coaching and inspiring less experienced colleagues along the way.

The biggest challenge

Leading change in an organization that must continue to operate flawlessly while rapidly transforming. After completing several system implementations and process adjustments, it’s clear that our conventional ‘Buying Desk’ setup cannot yet manage the desired volume and complexity. Now it’s up to you, together with the Manager Procurement Operations, to chart a new course. How do you create alignment between Procurement and Finance? How do you ensure we stop applying band-aid solutions and manage processes proactively? And how do you integrate our sustainability ambitions into daily operations? This requires strategic insight, change management skills, and the ability to onboard and engage stakeholders at all levels.

What you'll do as Senior Procurement Operations Specialist

As a senior member of the expanding Procurement Operations team (growing to 4 FTEs), you pivot between strategy and execution. You not only solve complex business requests but identify and devise structural solutions for issues the business isn’t even aware of. As the liaison between Finance and Procurement, you deliver the much-needed alignment that was previously lacking.

On the technical side, you manage critical processes, including supplier master data, buying channels, and catalog management. With your expertise in Ivalua and other procurement tools, you’re the go-to person for even the most complex use cases. You analyze P2P performance data, spot inefficiencies, and translate these into concrete improvement proposals. Change management is a significant part of your role. You develop inspiring training materials, lead workshops, and ensure new processes are implemented – and embraced – where they need to be. You have an eye for our ESG objectives: from setting up sustainable sourcing criteria to monitoring supplier compliance. You coach junior colleagues and proactively share knowledge to strengthen the entire team. Your key responsibilities:

  • Resolve complex business requests and structural problems
  • Liaise between Finance and Procurement, ensuring alignment
  • Manage critical systems and processes, supplier data, purchasing channel selection & implementation for each supplier, catalogs, cards
  • Oversee the implementation and initial management of employee travel processes via the designated travel management system
  • Analyze P2P performance and translate insights into improvement initiatives
  • Develop and lead change management efforts, including training and communication
  • Advise on policy, process, and system improvements
  • Coach junior team members and drive knowledge-sharing
  • Integrate sustainability criteria into operational processes
  • Report P2P chain performance to management
  • Support business with low value, low risk operational and tactical sourcing and contracting
  • Establish travel management tools and processes, supporting business with travel management complications

Why you can make a difference

You combine at least 6 years of P2P/Procurement operations experience with proven change management skills. You know the ins and outs of procurement systems (Ivalua knowledge is a big plus) and understand the connections between Procurement, Finance, and compliance. Your analytical skills help you unravel complex processes and translate data into strategic insights. You’re a bridge-builder who connects stakeholders at all levels. Experience with P2P process design and establishment of buying channels is an important criteria for success.

  • Ivory tower idealist You believe a sophisticated process diagram will solve everything, regardless of whether humans can follow it

  • Single lane driver You prefer staying in your procurement lane rather than collaborating with Finance and other departments

  • First aid only Band-aid solutions are your specialty - why solve a root cause when you can patch the symptoms?

  • Customer centric changemaker You put the internal customer first, have a service-oriented mindset and can build bridges between Finance and Procurement, turning skeptics into ambassadors for new ways of working

  • Metrics translator You dig into P2P metrics to find root causes, then translate findings into changes people understand and are eager to adopt

  • Pattern spotter You see beyond individual tickets to identify patterns and fix underlying issues

Where you'll work

You’ll become a crucial player in the new Procurement Operations structure, where you’ll report to the Head of Procurement Operations and work closely with stakeholders throughout the organization. This is a unique opportunity to be at the cradle of a modern, strategic, and ethical procurement function. The culture is entrepreneurial and results-oriented: we’re building a procurement organization that adds value far beyond cost savings. With your expertise, you’ll help 2,900 colleagues make smarter, faster, and more sustainable purchases for 13.7 million customers and 47,000 partners. We invest in state-of-the-art tools and give you every opportunity to make a meaningful difference. Ready to elevate sustainable procurement operations to new heights? Procure this position pronto!
