How do you make our customers happy?

By creating a reliable data backbone for our internal consumers who serve 47,000+ partners to maximize their platform performance. As our Analytics Engineer Advertising, you transform raw data into valuable insights that drive campaign optimizations, innovative new features, and advertisers’ success. Your work directly impacts how Marketing Analysts identify growth opportunities, how Product teams build smarter tools, and how 13.7 million customers discover products. By creating a single source of truth, you ensure every data-driven decision in our advertising ecosystem rests on an accurate and consistent foundation.

The biggest challenge

Scaling our analytics infrastructure at speed while maintaining data quality and governance standards. We’re expanding in every way, from our customer base to our product catalog and the complexity of our systems, and generating exponentially more data with higher stakes. How do you balance the urgency of evolving business needs with the need for reliable analytics? How do you build models that serve dozens of current use cases while anticipating future requirements? And how do you minimize ambiguity in a setting where each team has its own standards? You’ll need to manage the tension between speed and precision, creating solutions in a fast-evolving landscape where data build tools, data modeling, and governance practices continuously advance.

What you'll do as an Analytics Engineer - Advertising

As part of our cross-domain Analytics Engineering team, you’ll create data models and an infrastructure that empower analysts, scientists, and product teams across advertising. Often working as a member of cross-functional product teams, you’ll design a data architecture that transforms raw information into business-critical insights. Your focus spans from technical issues to governance, ensuring every advertising initiative is based on reliable foundations.

You’ll design and build dbt models that create a single source of truth from raw data to domain layers. Your infrastructure work includes developing CI pipelines with a focus on Airflow, ensuring scalable and reliable data processing. Through testing, documentation, and discoverability standards, you’ll guarantee that the desired data quality and reliability become organizational norms rather than abstract ambitions. Collaboration defines your daily work – partnering with analysts and product teams to understand their data requirements and translate them into impactful models. You’ll optimize performance and reliability to support increasing data volumes and complexity while contributing to internal standards that establish best practices across the organization. Your work will become the foundation that enables others to deliver exceptional advertising experiences in this impactful domain.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable dbt models from raw data to analytics-ready datasets
  • Build and maintain a robust technical infrastructure, including CI pipelines and Airflow orchestration
  • Establish comprehensive testing, documentation, and data discovery standards
  • Partner with analysts and product teams to understand requirements and validate impact
  • Optimize model performance and future readiness for constantly increasing data volume and complexity
  • Contribute to organization-wide analytics engineering standards and best practices

Why you can make a difference

You combine 2+ years of analytics or data science experience with a genuine passion for data engineering and infrastructure. Your technical expertise spans SQL, Python, and Git. More importantly, you understand how data can create business value. You’re naturally curious about business context, unafraid to ask probing questions, and thoughtful in your approach to data modeling. You bring structured thinking to complex problems and excel at collaborating with diverse stakeholders to deliver solutions that enable them.

  • - Silent stakeholder You struggle to form and express opinions in meetings - your input is often limited to faint nods
  • - Build-and-forget Your involvement ends when the analytics layer is complete; what stakeholders do with the results isn't your concern
  • - Status quo defender You distrust new techniques and prefer one-trick solutions to evolving best practices
  • + Engineering-minded analyst You have analytical or scientific training but gravitate toward infrastructure and engineering challenges that make analytics possible
  • + Quality-obsessed builder SQL, Python, and Git are your daily tools, and you believe robust foundations are essential for reliable insights
  • + Knowledge multiplier You get satisfaction from sharing your expertise and enabling others to achieve more through better data access

Where you'll work

You’ll join the Advertising Analytics team. This dynamic environment directly influences business growth through data-driven decisions, from optimizing advertiser performance to developing innovative campaign tools. Working alongside analysts, engineers, and product professionals, you’ll shape how data enables advertising excellence across one of our most impactful domains. The culture combines a technical focus with a keen eye for the business. With 2,900 colleagues and a solid track record of reimagining retail since 1999, your work will support a platform that never stops evolving.
