How can you make our customers happy?

Supplier Interactions provides scalable Retailer 1 supplier journey. Our team is responsible for financial agreements we make with the suppliers of Retailer1 to increase growth or profit; condition management (aka Vendor allowance).

In doing so, we play an important role in providing millions of people in the Netherlands and Belgium with the products they need for a good price. This is a role with tremendous impact because we process 300 million euros through our financial processes.

What you do as Go Software Engineer?

As Go Software Engineer you are a (very!) welcome member of the team that provides the services for managing our buying conditions with suppliers. Technical challenges aside, perks include end-to-end (team) ownership, lots of autonomy and an inspiring culture.

Our new colleague should be proactive in asking questions, searching for solutions and speaking up. Just as important is that you have a low ego and you like a structured way of working. We expect you to:

• Develop clean, high-performance code, (mainly) in Go, Google Cloud, Relational databases (PostgreSQL), Messaging systems like Pub/Sub;
• Think of ways to make modular solutions scalable and future-proof;
• Take full, end-to-end ownership over all team solutions. Being responsible for code reviews, refinement, coding, testing and deployment

• Nice to have some basic understanding of frontend. Experience with react is a plus
• Help your team grow and team up with business stakeholders to ensure that solutions add customer value #productled
• Have a passion for continuous learning and don’t hesitate to experiment with cutting-edge technology solutions

This job is not for you if:

• You are a code monkey. You like predefined stories where all requirements are written down perfectly and you just have to write code.
• You do not care about business. You like technology, but are not engaged in the business purpose it serves.
• You want to be taken by the hand. No, because you want to be taken by the hand; autonomy & ownership are not your thing.

What we are looking for:

• Proactive. Structured. Low ego. Those need to be some of your main qualities because you combine a genuine passion for coding with a proactive collaborative attitude. You are not afraid to spar with your team on the best solution and love to understand the business perspective.
• Communicative. Brave. Open minded. Because you rise to the (technical) challenges – and solve these – with and within this team. You also really like to understand – and work – within the financial domain the team covers. Next to this it would be a plus if you have experience in a Product-led company.
• You want to learn your stuff. Because you are a backer of Go – and have >1 year of experience be it on a personal project or within your career –, the truly universal language. Next to Go your primary tech stack includes: Google cloud, React / Angular (you are interested in front-end development, because we have some front-ends’) and know your way around databases.
