We are looking for a Platform Engineer with working experience in building platforms in Azure to join Themis – an in-house Transaction Monitoring (TM) solution to mitigate money laundering risks on a daily basis.

You are an engineer who values standards and have proactive attitude towards automation. You should have experience in working in Agile teams (Scrum, Scaled Agile Framework). You will be a key member in our team to help develop and optimize our current pipelines, and ensure our solution is as efficient and effective as possible.

Preventing Money Laundering & Terrorist Financing is one of the fundamental aspects of our society and our organization, and as a bank, we play a crucial role in this field. Within Rabobank, we have built a data-driven solution that analyses over 11 million transactions daily to detect customers who launder money or finance terrorists. As the behavioural patterns of criminals constantly evolve, our solution needs to adapt and become just as quickly. To keep our solution flexible and stable, we need intelligent individuals like yourself who are passionate about extending and improving our Transaction Monitoring (TM) platform.

To keep our TM solution up to date to fight financial crime, you are passionate about working together in a team where you provide your expertise to enable the team to make better-informed decisions regarding the technical design and implementation of analytical solutions. This way, you make sure Rabobank will be able to fight financial crime effectively.

Your responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions on Microsoft Azure using tools like Bicep, ARM templates, or Terraform.
• Streamline and optimize Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines to improve deployment efficiency and reliability.
• Develop and enhance data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Databricks, ensuring scalability and performance.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and squads to gather requirements, align on goals, and deliver robust infrastructure solutions.
• Champion and implement DevOps best practices, guiding the team in adopting modern workflows, automation, and monitoring strategies.

Must haves

• Minimal 4+ years of experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer or similar role, with a focus on building platform solutions in Azure.
• Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Bicep, Terraform, or ARM templates.
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, including pipeline configuration and automation.
• Solid understanding of Azure services, especially related to networking, compute, storage, and security.
• Experience with data engineering tools such as Azure Data Factory and Databricks.
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python (PySpark).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to work effectively in agile, cross-functional teams.
• A proactive mindset with a passion for automation, scalability, and continuous improvement.

Nice to haves

• Domain knowledge in Transaction Monitoring or Financial Crime Prevention.
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert or Azure Solutions Architect.
