Electrical Designer at Philips

Job Description

In this role, you have the opportunity to develop, validate and verify electrical components, (sub-) systems and solutions of the Interventional Guided Therapy Systems (fixed interventional X-ray systems) as well as lead continuous improvements (CAPA) at R&D. You will work within an R&D multidisciplinary team on applying research results and technology advancements.

Your role

  • Electronics and electric design requirements, development, verification, reporting and documentation.
  • Assuring design quality, reliability and patient safety of our medical products and systems developed by Philips and our suppliers and partners.
  • Defining test strategy and plans, testing and reporting to comply with Safety and EMC international standards and regulations.
  • Corrective Actions Preventive Actions (CAPA) ownership – lead, facilitate and implement.
  • Effective and efficient cooperation with teams and stakeholders.
  • Alignment with other functions (mechanical, mechatronics, norm compliance, test and validation, purchase, quality, other).
  • Supporting co-creation, maintenance and carrying out the electronics and electrical team vision / mission / strategy.
  • Assuring continuous improvement

You're the right fit if

  • Master of Science or related technical degree in electrical-, electronics-, mechatronics engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in professional engineering environment.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in medical or other highly regulated industry.
  • Experience and affinity with analog (capacitive) sensors and low level analog signals.
  • Wide scope of knowledge, from analog electronics, to digital electronics and software. Not limited by discipline borders.
  • High degree of self-learning and eagerness to experiment and explore.
  • Good balance between theoretical and practical knowledge.
  • Use of measurement equipment and automation should come naturally.
  • Being able to use Python and Labview or similar languages.
  • Experience in new product introduction and/or life-cycle development in the industry.
  • Experience in electronics system design, validation and verification. Quality and improvement driven.
  • EPLAN expert. Leadership of teams and stakeholders.
  • Able to work in cross functional teams.
  • Good communication skills in English.
  • Proactive and energetic. Hands on and accurate.
  • Experience in SAFe is a preferred.
