Introduction

In this context, the D&E Re-use department was set up with the mission to accelerate learning on lifetime and failure modes of products, re-use processes, design guidelines to enable re-use, reduce cost within our operations and eliminate waste. By working in the D&E Re-use department, you will collectively contribute to ASML’s circular economy and sustainability goals.

Your assignment

This internship focuses on developing a reuse strategy for high Part Usage Costs (PUC) modules in a HighNA Lithography product, one of the latest NPI (New Product Introduction) ASML Products. You will play a crucial role in testing and validating a newly published process framework, ensuring its effectiveness and applicability.

You will be responsible for:

  • Creating a Business Case: Develop a comprehensive business case for reusing a high PUC module.
  • Technical Assessment: Collaborate with the D&E Designer to perform a technical assessment of the module.
  • Checklist Completion: Drive the completion of the deliverables necessary for enabling reuse of the part.

​This is a bachelor graduation (thesis) or bachelor/master apprentice (to gain work experience) internship for 3-4 days a week with a duration of 6 to 12 months. The start date of this internship is as soon as possible.

Your profile

To be a perfect fit for this internship, you:

  • Are a student in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field;
  • Have an affinity for sustainability and process improvement;
  • Are interested in the circular economy;
  • Have strong analytical skills and a proactive attitude;
  • Possess good communication skills in English (verbal and written).

Other requirements you need to meet

  • You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;
  • You need to be located in the Netherlands to perform your internship. In case you’re currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate.
  • If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
