Senior Manager Merchandising Analytics at adidas

General Purpose

At adidas as a Senior Manager Digital Analytics with focus on Product & Pricing Analytics you are responsible for reporting tools, KPIs, insights and measurement primarily supporting ecommerce buying & planning teams. You will be working with multiple data sets to generate insights that help adidas understand product purchase patterns to ultimately help drive sales and manage our inventory.

You will drive complex analytical projects; work on uncovering new insights, help to solve complex business problems, build better analytics processes and deliver new capabilities. Using both descriptive and advanced analytics, you will help adidas make more informed product, pricing and ranging decisions.

Through data, you enable the understanding of complex business questions: how price impacts our sales and profitability, how the products we range help to grow the value of our consumers and what tactics we can deploy on fast & slow moving articles. You own the development and automation of analytical tools & processes to enable efficient and accurate product forecasts and enable adidas to plan for future and current seasons.

Main TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES:

FOUNDATIONS & AUTOMATION:

  • Support in the automation of complex analytical data processes such as product forecasting
  • Ensure data quality and resolution of defects
  • Act as the team expert in automation and upskill the wider team on automation best practices

REPORTS AND DASHBOARDS:

  • Build and maintain best-practice, self-service data tools in Power BI enabling users to track the performance of our products
  • Manage roadmaps and backlogs for development and enhancements

INSIGHTS:

  • Conduct deep dives into business problems and areas of underperformance
  • Identify opportunities to be more relevant to different consumer groups through our product offering
  • Combine product insights from different perspectives to give a 360 view on a product category (stock, price, industry & market insights, consumer, marketing)

MEASUREMENT:

  • Define KPIs to measure the health of our products
  • Lead test measurement across pricing and ranging
  • Support with sizing opportunities to drive business growth

ADVANCED ANALYTICS AND INNOVATION:

  • Use advanced statistical techniques to uncover trends not visible through descriptive insights
  • Pioneer usage of advanced analytics to support every-day decision making

  • EU e-commerce teams (Buying & Planning / Trading / Outlet / Digital Visual Merchandising / Finance / Analytics)
  • Global Digital Analytics
  • Global Data Engineering

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Analytical-Skills:

  • Extensive experience in data manipulation using SQL and confidence working with multiple large data sets
  • POWER BI or equivalent data visualization tools such as Tableau or Looker
  • Automation experience using Python and various Microsoft tools
  • Knowledge of a variety of statistical techniques
  • Experience leading complex analytical projects end-to end
  • Excellent communication skills: ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and comfortable presenting to stakeholders at various organizational levels

Minimum Requisites:

  • University degree in a numerical/business discipline
  • 6+ years’ experience in an Analytical role
  • Experience in eCommerce or Retail
  • Knowledge of Merchandising and Product Planning processes
  • Fluent in English
  • Passion for sports and the adidas brand
