As Refrigeration Specialist, you work with both front-line Sales managers and Sales back office to support in determining the customer’s real needs as well as in designing Marel’s best solution to these needs. If necessary, you challenge and support the sales organization to identify relevant opportunities and to harvest on these. Besides, as part of the refrigeration engineering team, you contribute to uphold the high standard Marel sets in the global markets and ensure the technical and technological quality of the designs made.

In this role, you will:

• Be responsible for supporting the Sales and Solution team with specialist knowledge of the Marel cooling solutions, this includes making and maintaining documentation that either the sales team or you can use to explain the Marel views and solutions for chilling poultry.
• Make the calculations for the customer specific cooling designs, by using and understanding the design tools created by the refrigeration engineering team.
• Collect information about the products, the market, and competitors to position our product/process better towards the customer and create new opportunities.
• Identify opportunities for new or improved product-market combinations (PMCs) for cooling down poultry. Have an active role in the identification, development, validation and launch of the relevant PMCs.
• Maintain an internal and external network to secure the necessary knowledge-level.
• Travel on request with the Marel team to customers to determine the customer real need for cooling and explain the Marel solutions to the customer.

Ideally, you hold a bachelor or master degree within an agri-business or technical/technological area (for example agro- or food technology or mechanical engineering) & have 5-8 years of relevant working experience (e.g. as Product Specialist and/or Product Manager and/or Technical Sales for capital goods)

• Above average analytical skills and you take a holistic approach “by nature”.
• Team player spirit, highly motivated to go for the win-win, and willing to work 3 days/week in the Boxmeer office.
• Proficiency in English, both verbal and written.

Last but not least, you are willing to travel on occasion.
