Purpose of Role

Under Armour, Europe is seeking an Accountant to join its Finance team based in Amsterdam. This is an ideal opportunity for a self-motivated, passionate, flexible, and focused individual to join a high-quality Finance team.

The main responsibilities of the role will be to assist in the accurate and timely processing of various accounting functions for Under Armour Europe BV and its various subsidiaries, as well as to develop and maintain robust accounting controls and processes.

This is a hands-on role and duties will include the preparation of compliance filing responsibilities, booking of journal entries, as well as the reconciliation and review of key account balances. The Accountant will functionally report to the Senior Accountant, SG&A.

Your Impact

• Perform month and year-end closing procedures for your assigned area of responsibility (Fixed Assets, SG&A (Distribution, Travel Expenses, Sales Commission, Marketing Working Budget, Intercompany) including, but not limited to, bookkeeping, reviewing of financial information, preparing and posting journal entries, and preparing account reconciliations, variance analysis and transactional research. In scope 14 Legal Entities.
• Prepare and manage general ledger entries and accruals
• Perform reconciliation of the balance sheet to ensure accuracy of financials
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of Month End Closing activities
• Ensure accurate technical accounting, both local and US GAAP
• Support internal and external audits and participate in tax audits
• Ensure compliance with key internal controls, policies and procedures
• Keep relevant Desktop procedures and processes up to date and document new ones accordingly
• Identify and implement controls, processes and system improvements
• Support the Under Armour Corporate team on ad hoc issues and improvement projects where required
• Maintain close collaboration with FP&A and other stakeholders
• Other ad hoc duties deemed necessary by the Senior Manager Accounting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics or Accounting or equivalent is a must
• 3+ years' work experience in accounting and/or finance, in a high-growth dynamic operating environment, preferably including experience in a global public company
• Knowledge of US GAAP and Sarbanex-Oxley
• Strong technical accounting skills, understanding of US GAAP, general ledger functions and the month-end close process.
• Strong knowledge of Fixed Assets module in SAP
• Advanced Excel skills and data analytics
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced and diverse environment
• Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills
• Team player with demonstrated ability to influence others outside of direct team peers
• Fluency in English is a must

Workplace Location

• Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Amsterdam office.
• Return to Work Designation: Starting in October, teammates are required to work on-site for 3 days per week. This will increase to 4 days per week beginning January 2026.
