Mackay is currently seeking an experienced Marine Service Engineer, also referred to as a Marine Service Technician, for our depot located in Moerdijk, the Netherlands. Individuals with the required skills and qualifications listed below, in addition to fluency in English, are encouraged to apply.

Marine Service Engineer Job Overview:

Under limited supervision, the Marine Service Engineer (MSE or ‘technician’) will install, service, and repair electronic equipment on board ships. MSEs test, adjust, and troubleshoot electronic components, PCBs, sub-assemblies, and antennas as well as load, update, and modify software. They use their knowledge of radio frequencies (RF), electronic theory and circuitry to address a variety of technical problems and make intelligent use of complex schematics, blueprints, and manuals to accurately achieve assignments. Upon completion of service work, MSEs compose a detailed service report.

Marine Service Engineer Qualifications:

  • A University degree in engineering, or equivalent technical certifications.
  • 3+ Years of experience as a Marine Service Engineer or Marine Service Technician in the commercial shipping industry.
  • Strong knowledge of electronics theory and application
  • GMDSS Radio Operator Maintainer license preferred.
  • Physically Fit — Work environment often involves carrying 9-14 kg., climbing ladders/masts and exposure to weather.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Candidates must have a reasonable and reliable commute to Moerdijk on a daily basis. All employment is contingent upon satisfactory outcome of a background and reference check.
