About Welcome app

Imagine trying to build a new life in a foreign country – from scratch. Where do you start? Accessing information can be difficult, you don’t speak the language yet, and you don’t know how to connect with new people. Many newcomers in the Netherlands face these challenges.

Welcome app makes building that new life easier. We bring together relevant information, activities, services and local organisations on one platform: the Welcome app. We support municipalities in their tasks and provide newcomers with access to opportunities, contact and control over their own future.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a Project Management Intern to help us deliver impactful projects for newcomers and the municipalities that support them – with a focus on Amsterdam.

As a Project Management Intern, you will work closely with our Project Coordinators to track progress, organise events and support operational tasks for our project delivery. You are structured, proactive and love to see things run smoothly. You’re also a real team player who enjoys working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

What will you do?

  • Project coordination: Support the Project Coordinator to monitor progress, update project timelines and help keep everyone aligned.
  • Event organisation: Assist with planning and executing community events, workshops and project meetings.
  • Operational support: Provide administrative and logistical support for project delivery, such as booking venues, preparing materials and coordinating with partners.
  • Documentation: Help with preparing reports, presentations and documentation for project partners and stakeholders.
  • Communication: Maintain clear communication with colleagues and partners to ensure everyone has the right information at the right time.
  • Problem-solving: Tackle challenges and find creative, practical solutions to support successful project implementation.

What skills and qualities will help you succeed?

  • You are organised and can keep track of multiple tasks at once.
  • You work in a structured and detail-oriented way, with a keen eye for what needs to be done.
  • You are proactive – you see what’s needed and take the initiative.
  • You have strong communication skills and can work well in a multicultural team.
  • You enjoy working with people and helping to create a positive impact.
  • You are curious to learn and eager to develop your project management skills.
  • You have a lived experience with migration, displacement, being a newcomer

What we offer:

  • A part-time internship (at least 3 days a week – flexible)
  • €400 internship allowance per month
  • Travel expenses reimbursed
  • An impact-driven role, contributing to the lives of newcomers in the Netherlands
  • Lots of freedom and flexibility for remote and hybrid work
  • Opportunities to learn and grow within an ambitious social startup
  • Support for your professional and personal development, including thesis or research projects
  • A great workplace and free lunch at our office in the heart of Amsterdam

Are you ready to support impactful projects and grow your skills in project management? Send your CV and a short motivation to hr@welcomeapp.nl. Still have questions? Don’t hesitate to send us an email!

We review applications on a rolling basis. Please note: applications without a motivation will not be considered.
