Introduction to the job

As a Business Assurance (BA) Expert specializing in Assurance Oversight and Audit Support at the Risk Business Assurance & Security (RBA&S) department of ASML, you contribute to assurance readiness activities. You assist in audit support activities, help track open actions, and support coordination efforts around the Assurance Table and related events. This position is essential in ensuring that assurance efforts are strategically aligned with business priorities, are executed effectively, are well-coordinated, and lead to actionable insights.

Role and responsibilities

You will be part of ASML’s Business Assurance team and will help drive consistency, transparency, and efficiency in the planning and execution of assurance activities and optimize how ASML prepares for and supports audits and assurance reviews.

You will:

  • Perform and support audit readiness assessments, advising on preparedness and alignment.
  • Contribute to assurance mapping initiatives to ensure activities are prioritized and properly resourced.
  • Support the Assurance Table, aligning stakeholders and identifying opportunities for rationalization and improvement.
  • Provide support to business areas on external audit strategy, preparation, and documentation expectations.
  • Align pre-audit work and audit support across functions, ensuring quality and consistency
  • Challenge others and provide recommendations
  • Support the execution of the Business Assurance Plan and contribute to the development of underlying methodologies and tooling.
  • Review existing operations work and implements innovation processes to generate new ideas and ensure the required continuous improvement outcomes are delivered.

Education and experience

To succeed in this role, you bring:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience in a large, complex organization.
  • A background in internal or external auditing is required.
  • Deep experience with risk, assurance, and audit coordination.
  • Ability to manage senior stakeholders, influence across departments, and operate independently.
  • Solid understanding of audit cycles, risk frameworks, and cross-functional dependencies.

Skills

In this role, you’ll need to collaborate across departments, synthesize input from multiple assurance stakeholders, and drive process consistency.

  • Sound business insight and assurance acumen.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and diplomatically with both internal stakeholders and auditors.
  • Confidence in developing structured recommendations and frameworks.
