JOB PURPOSE

As a Director, Client Relationship, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the long-term commercial success of Liberty Blume across the DACH region (Germany Austria, Switzerland). Reporting directly to the VP of Sales, you will manager some of our most important clients.

Your responsibility will be set across two main areas, one will be to develop and execute comprehensive business development and a long term client account plans, with the objective of driving profitable revenue growth for Liberty Blume in the DACH region, whilst maintaining the satisfaction of the client and being the face of the client into Liberty Blume and vice versa. You will be the main point of contact between the client and the company, working to understand client needs, providing solutions, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality products or services.

The other will be to develop and execute a comprehensive business development and sales strategy, with the objective of driving profitable revenue growth for Liberty Blume across the DACH region. Your focus will be on targeting high-value opportunities (£1m+) from both new and existing customers. From conducting thorough market research and analysis to strategic customer targeting, prospecting, and crafting compelling, product-led sales pitches, your role extends to robust negotiations and effective deal closing. In this capacity, you will hold full accountability for the future revenue growth of Liberty Blume across all lines of business.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • New Business Sales: exceeds ambitious sales targets through acquisition of new third party customers in the DACH region.
  • Client Relationship Management: The Client Relationship Director builds and maintains strong, long-term relationships with clients, ensuring they feel valued and supported.
  • Client Satisfaction & Retention: Ensuring clients are satisfied with the services/products provided and addressing any concerns or issues that arise. This role is critical for retaining clients and minimizing churn.
  • Project Management & Coordination: Managing the delivery of services or products to clients, coordinating with internal teams (e.g., sales, marketing, operations) to ensure client needs are met on time and within budget.
  • Problem Solving & Issue Resolution: Addressing client concerns, troubleshooting problems, and working proactively to resolve any issues in a timely manner.
  • Upsell and XSell: Identifying opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional products or services to clients, ensuring that they’re aware of other offerings that could benefit them.
  • Client Advocacy: Acting as the client's advocate within the organization, ensuring their needs are communicated and addressed effectively by other departments.
  • Client Performance & Reporting: Monitoring and reporting on the client’s use of services or products, providing regular updates and recommendations for improvements based on client performance.
  • Contract and Budget Management: Ensuring that agreements, budgets, and timelines are adhered to, managing renewals, and negotiating contracts when necessary.
  • Risk Management: Identify any risks or issues that may impact the client relationship, developing strategies to mitigate risks and prevent client dissatisfaction.
  • Internal Collaboration: Collaborate with sales, marketing, operations, and other teams to align efforts and deliver the best outcomes for clients, providing feedback to internal teams about client needs and expectations and collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve client challenges and provide tailored solutions.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

EXPERIENCE

  • Proven track record of sales in a business to business sales environment
  • Proven track record of relationship/account management in a business to business environment, showing extensive client relationship expertise
  • Experienced at building account plans with long term revenue potential, aligned to the core product set of the business, with a focus on client growth and retention
  • Proven success in identifying new business opportunities within existing accounts, upselling, and cross-selling
  • Ability to make informed decisions that benefit both the client and the business, balancing client satisfaction with company goals.
  • Established experience of working in a complex corporate environment
  • A deep understanding of the industry (and products) in which Liberty Blume operates and how that impacts client needs
  • Building, managing, and motivating multi- channel lines of business and virtual teams
  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with a wide client stakeholder group
  • Strategic thinking and problem solving in a dynamic business development environment, with the ability to resolve conflict and issues
  • Ability to cope with pressure and demanding timescales without compromising quality

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Demonstrates advanced communication skills and a strong emotional intelligence to understand clients’ concerns and manage difficult conversations with tact and understanding
  • Active listening – Hearing clients challenges and concerns, earning trust from clients.
  • Resilience – Hunger to achieve sales and financial targets. Driving success, ability to remain resilient during long negotiation periods
  • Strong executive presence, highly confident and experienced when dealing internally and externally at a senior/board level
  • Time management – Ensuring prioritisation of client’s needs.
  • Research skills – In-depth analytical skills to collect key info about market, competition and product demand
  • Expertise in contract negotiation, pricing discussions, and managing renewal processes to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes
  • Highly literate, numerate, and commercially astute.
  • Familiarity with building investment business cases, and financial returns.
  • Curious and creative with a proactive attitude
  • High ethical standards

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as: Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Sales, Finance, Management
  • Master’s Degree (optional but beneficial):
    • An MBA or a Master's in a related field

Professional Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in account management, client relationship management, or sales-related roles.
  • Experience working in the services industry and with the Liberty Blume products and solutions

Certifications (Optional but Advantageous):

  • Certified Account Manager (CAM)
  • Certified Professional in Client Management (CPCM)
  • Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP, CAPM)
  • Sales Certifications (e.g., Certified Sales Executive, Sales Leadership Certification)
  • CRM Software Training/Certification: In particular HubSpot

Languages:

  • Multilingual skills: Proficiency in additional languages can be a strong asset, particularly for global or international companies, in particular German.

Technology

  • Familiarity with digital marketing tools: Understanding digital marketing tools and techniques
  • Microsoft Office Suite: Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is required for reporting, presentations, and data analysis
  • CRM Software: Extensive knowledge of CRM systems, such as Salesforce and HubSpot
