Medior Infrastructure Engineer

Build robust infrastructure for millions of users

At Gomibo, we run our own private cloud across three data centers — from physical servers to networking and Kubernetes. As a Medior Infrastructure Engineer (Infrastructure Engineer II), you’ll independently design and build infrastructure that powers our SaaS platforms. Your decisions and code directly impact availability, scalability, and security for millions of users across Europe.

You’ll work hands-on on projects, implement improvements, and help resolve incidents. Think setting up new clusters, expanding monitoring, or optimizing network performance. You take ownership of clearly defined projects — and help future-proof our infrastructure.

Our tech & workflow

• Infra: Kubernetes, Docker, Ceph, Helm, HAProxy, NGINX

• Automation & monitoring: Terraform, Ansible, GitOps (Flux), Prometheus, Loki, Grafana

• Security & secrets management: Hashicorp Vault

• Stack: Fully self-managed private cloud across 3 colocations

• Workflow: We work iteratively, release multiple times per day, automate everything we can, and actively replace legacy systems

Our team takes full ownership of our infrastructure. We actively replace legacy systems, experiment with new tech, and constantly look for ways to improve.

What you'll do

You’ll work in a multidisciplinary team of infrastructure engineers and play a central role in how we build and improve our cloud infrastructure.

Examples of what you’ll work on:

• Independently designing and implementing infrastructure

• Improving and maintaining CI/CD, monitoring, and backup systems

• Managing, troubleshooting, and scaling Kubernetes clusters

• Installing and maintaining physical network and server hardware in our data centers

• Solving incidents and running postmortems

• Expanding our automation with tools like Terraform and Ansible

Hybrid work

You'll work from our Groningen office throughout your onboarding. After that, you can work remotely up to 2 days per week

What we're looking for

You already have hands-on experience building infrastructure and take pride in the quality and stability of what you deliver. You’re technically solid, collaborative, and motivated to keep improving.

We expect:

• At least 2 years of experience in infrastructure/SRE/DevOps roles

• A degree (HBO or WO level) in IT or a related field

• Solid knowledge of Linux, networking, containers, and virtualization

• Experience with Kubernetes and infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible)

• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, monitoring, and security principles

• Strong communication skills and fluent English
