Data Science Internship: Cost management via AI

Are you a bachelor’s or master’s student in Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field? Are you interested in the cross-section between technology and business considerations? If so, this internship could be interesting for you!

You’ll join the Lifecycle Cost and Value Engineering group within ASML’s Performance & Integration EUV department. This department focuses on Cost of Goods Management of our EUV machines from early design phase to volume phase. We strive to make cost a consciously chosen decision parameter. We will steer the design towards optimized profitability, either by improving the value of our products for our customers and/or by reducing its cost. We provide project teams the knowledge, methods, tools and support to take-up their responsibility to manage cost proactively.

Your assignment

In this assignment, you will explore how Artificial Intelligence can help ASML in managing cost. The assignment can be tweaked according to your profile and interests.

Your profile

To be a perfect fit for this assignment, you:

  • Have a good understanding of Artificial Intelligence;
  • Have great communication / stakeholder management / influencing skills;
  • Have a clear motivation to work on this assignment, therefore, a cover letter is required;
  • Are fluent in English, both written and verbal.

This assignment is suitable for a bachelor or master student looking for either an apprentice internship or graduation project. You should be available for a minimum of 4-5 months, 4 to 5 days per week (at least 4 days on-site). The preferred start date is September 2025.

Other requirements you need to meet:

  • You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;
  • You need to be located in the Netherlands to perform your internship. If you are currently living/studying outside the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter must include your willingness to relocate;
  • If you are a non-EU citizen studying in the Netherlands, your university must be willing to sign the necessary internship documents (e.g., Nuffic agreement).

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
