Finance Director – Corporate Digital Marketing Office

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Finance Director to join our Corporate Digital Marketing team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing and optimizing financial aspects of large-scale transformational projects related to media, organizational initiatives, influencer partnerships, data analytics, and return on investment (ROI) analysis. The ideal candidate will bring a comprehensive set of skills, including influential leadership, change management, negotiation, project management, business acumen, process simplification, and cross-functional cooperation, to ensure the success of our digital marketing endeavors.

Report directly to VP of CDMO finance to support Local and Global Strategic Committee members including L’Oreal NA CFO, L’USA CDMO, and Global CDMO CFO. Partner with senior management in divisions and HQ (including Divisional VP’s and CFO’s). Partner with CDMO Leadership Committee including SVP of Business Acceleration for L’USA, SVP of CMI for L’USA, and VP of Brand Engagement. Partner closely with consulting agencies (ex. BCG) on various topics.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead finance support for Brand Engagement Team. Support the establishment of a content factory, conducting financial analysis of tools and vendors associated with major projects.
  • Establish and oversee a Data Integrity Process for a major project, involving analysis, dashboard creation, stakeholder engagement, and ensuring a smooth handover to the business in 2025.
  • Lead the analysis of wide-ranging e-commerce profit and loss statements, focusing on profitability, and commercial terms. Contribute to a consistent reporting structure for online and offline businesses and provide financial insights for strategic initiatives.
  • Finance lead for digital initiatives ensuring effective communication between local and global teams.
  • Participate in strategic decision-making processes and contribute to the successful rollout of new digital platforms and partnerships, focusing on performance management. Foster partnerships with relevant teams for joint business planning negotiations and aligning on common currency changes.
  • Collaborate with other functions (e.g., Internal Control, Sourcing, Division Finance) to implement digital-related projects, offering subject matter expertise on new processes and controls.
  • Lead training and education initiatives within the digital finance team, contributing to the development of a cohesive and knowledgeable team through various training sessions for both finance and non-finance personnel.

Influential Leadership and Change Management: Provide influential leadership in driving financial strategies that align with the evolving landscape of digital marketing. Effectively manage change within the finance function, fostering adaptability and embracing innovative approaches.

Negotiation and Project Management: Negotiate and assess financial implications of influencer partnerships, ensuring cost-effectiveness. Apply project management skills to monitor and control project costs, ensuring adherence to budgets and timelines.

Business Acumen and Process Simplification: Demonstrate strong business acumen by understanding the intricacies of digital marketing and its financial impact. Contribute to process simplification initiatives, identifying opportunities to streamline financial processes for efficiency.

Cross-functional Cooperation and Communication: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, translating financial insights into actionable strategies for digital marketing projects. Foster cross-functional cooperation by facilitating communication and collaboration between finance, marketing, and other departments.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in financial analysis and planning, preferably in the context of digital marketing. Strong understanding of marketing metrics, ROI analysis, and financial modeling. Excellent communication and influential leadership skills to collaborate with Senior Leadership. Proficient in financial software and tools; experience with marketing analytics tools is a plus. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
