Role Overview:

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer in our Research and Development department, you will play a significant role in the development of ultrasonic flowmeters and electromagnetic flowmeters from concept to production introduction. You will collaborate closely with other disciplines and departments to bring new products and features to market. The factory on site provides a unique close interaction with the colleagues building the products you helped develop!

We are seeking an enthusiastic and flexible colleague who is passionate about mechanical engineering and likes solving technical challenges and enjoys pushing the boundaries of technology and driving continuous improvement in our engineering processes. Your experience and positive attitude will help develop our projects, products, and team. Our R&D mechanical engineering team is a dynamic group of 10 people with different mechanical backgrounds and ages. We are looking forward to welcoming a new colleague who is enthusiastic, a team player, hands-on, creative, professional and a real problem-solver.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work in multi-disciplinary teams to develop new products and features;
  • Design and develop flowmeter parts, prototypes and products, using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Ansys) for modeling and simulation to ensure optimal performance;
  • Conduct feasibility studies and performance evaluations;
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions, design reviews, and technical discussions to resolve technical challenges;
  • Collaborate with production engineers to optimize product design for manufacturability using Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA);
  • Planning mechanical activities to achieve results on time in projects and support activities;
  • Support maintenance activities for current portfolio for troubleshooting flowmeter issues (RCA);
  • Manage product, project data, and create R&D documentation (in our PLM) system;
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and interns within the Mechanical Engineering team;
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance engineering processes and optimize product performance and reliability.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or Mechatronics; advanced degree preferred;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in product development, with a focus on mechanical engineering;
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects from concept to production introduction;
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and collaborating with colleagues from diverse technical backgrounds;
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD). Experience with simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL) is a pre;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively to overcome technical challenges;
  • Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders;
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development;
  • Experience in fluid measurement technology or related fields is a plus.
