For our site in Papendrecht, we are looking for a Safety Advisor with the specialism in occupational health to strengthen our HSE team. At our Papendrecht Campus we have three business lines, each of them have their own risks and challenges. As a Safety Advisor, you have the task to advise your colleagues. It is your responsibility to review and analyze the occupational risks and capable to digest changes in law and legislation. The focus will be on exposure on chemicals, noise, vibrations, but also on ergonomics. You are able to find the right balance in solutions and you have a clear communication style, which helps us to build the case for safety.

What you'll do

Policy formulation and organization:

  • Developing and formulating the company's HSE policy in a team context
  • Implementing and securing the policy after approval
  • Following (international) laws and regulations with regard to the work area and advising the organization
  • Translating laws and regulations into internal procedures and guidelines and implementing these procedures

Safety & health

  • Performing (having performed) exposure measurements and reports in a timely manner
  • Advising on other Arbo aspects such as vibrations, radiation, vulnerable groups of employees
  • Coordinating and organizing actions in accordance with the HSE annual plan (RI&E, exposure monitoring, PMO/PAGO, etc.)
  • Organizing, performing, recording and following up on safety audits with regard to working conditions
  • Ensuring that all relevant information is registered and recorded in the data systems intended for this purpose
  • Conducting incident investigations and analyzing and handling incidents, where necessary in consultation with the safety expert
  • Acting as a contact person and source of information for the internal organization and third parties (including the Nederlandse Arbeidsinspectie) with regard to the field

Reporting

  • Periodically reporting to management regarding progress, prevention, incidents, project results, any deviations and causes
  • Drawing up required (government) reports for external parties

What you'll bring

  • HBO-Bachelor level.
  • Completed HVK/ NEBOSH degree.
  • General knowledge of occupational hygiene. Prepared to obtain degree in Occupational Hygiene.
  • Legislation and regulations, in particular the Working Conditions Act.
  • Organizational policy with regard to HSE.
  • Strong in both written and verbal communication in Dutch and English.
  • Business processes, the associated (employee) risks and mitigations.
  • Procedures, company rules and personnel safety regulations insofar as they apply to the position.
