We are looking for an EMEA Principal and Product Manager (M/W) to join our Nutraceuticals team. The location in Europe is flexible.

About this role

Job Purpose

Managing all aspects of the Barentz Nutraceutical Actives portfolio in EMEA. Managing product range strategy (Premium & Private Label) and both current and future principal supplier relationships, in close collaboration with the (Division) Sales Team, but also Quality and Regulatory, to ensure Barentz the right and competitive product offering to reach its ambition and deliver expected results in the Nutraceutical EMEA market.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Identifying gaps in our portfolio vs market opportunities.
  • Identifying the most relevant Principal candidates.
  • Validating their relevance with the support of our Nutra Sales Team (Biz cases, market potential, price competitiveness, if applicable).
  • Opening and Managing relationship with Principals: Which products, what territories, what contract (DA, CP, LOI), potential conflicts, ensure that Purchasing price vs Market prices allows sufficient GM for Barentz.
  • Managing the onboarding process of new Principals: Reg/QC checks, contractualization (with support of Legal), setting up first technical trainings.
  • Maintain, grow, and develop current suppliers through increased territories, volume, gross profit, product mix, and strategic portfolio expansion.
  • Ensuring homogeneity (duplicates vs gaps) and relevance of all our product ranges: Private Label (Natural Ingredients) vs Premium (Barentz Historical) vs others.
  • Integration of new potential portfolios from future acquisitions.
  • Ensuring regular and harmonized reporting to Principals in accordance with their strategic relevance.
  • Support our Nutra Sales team in their promotion efforts by providing needed tools and support.
  • Ensuring all relevant Principal documents are available and up to date in the Nutra SharePoint.
  • Organizing in accordance with the principles of onboarding training and regular refreshers.

Critical results

  • Construction of Barentz’s “premium” range of Nutraceutical Actives.
  • Act as Principal Manager for existing Nutra Actives suppliers
  • Managing full Barentz’s Nutraceutical Actives portfolio (Premium + Private Label).
  • Ensuring the sales team is provided with all necessary tools to succeed (Docs, training…)

About You

Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree in education in Chemistry or other sciences.
  • 15 years of experience in the relevant field or related experience (pharmaceutical and nutraceutical excipients and active ingredients).
  • Project management experienceSupplier and business development experience required, preferably in a global environment.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical and nutraceutical or food/feed ingredient product development, manufacturing, and regulations
  • Experience in the procurement of specialty pharmaceutical ingredients
