ING is looking to hire an IT Chapter Lead for Group Services Finance. The Chapter Lead will work in the Data Foundation Area. You will combine managerial skills with expert level data design and build skills on enterprise level data exchange and integration for Finance and Risk. In addition you have a general knowledge of Finance & Risk functions in financial services and general knowledge of banking that you can translate into working software. You have a life-long passion for data engineering and enjoy diving into specific topics when necessary. Your managerial skills allow you to attract and retain the best engineers.
As IT Chapter Lead you are directly responsible for initially 9 data engineers and from 1st of January 12 data engineers.
As we are creating our new F&R tenant (carve out of the shared datalake), the knowledge and experience of data-intensive solutions like datalakes and datamarts are key skills that needs a dedicated chapter and a chapterlead.
Your working environment will be in the space of data exchange, closely tied to ING’s data strategy, and the further build-out of ING’s F&R Tenant and ING’s Finance and Risk datawarehouse.
You can act as equal counterpart for ING’s Domain Architects, colleague chapterleads and stakeholders to find the best solutions under constraints.

You will be working within the department Group Services Finance & Procurement/Data Foundation and report to the IT Area Lead. Depending on seniority exposure to the wider context in ING is expected. We hire for talent and expect you to show professional growth and will give you all the support you need.
Who we are looking for?
We are looking for someone with at least 8 years experience as a data engineer. This means developing data-intensive solutions like datawarehouses or other forms of data-intensive applications. You are familiar with the problem space where different applications model the same part of the world but with different solutions, leading to the integration design question. You have a proven track record in managing application software at scale. We value experience in the financial industry, especially experience with Accounting, Regulatory Reporting and Financial Risk functions.
You have at least some experience with coaching other engineers on their craftsmanship.
Personal profile:
You align your architecture vision with the longterm IT vision and the business strategy. You like complex analysis and you can identify and use the different forces that exist in the organisation. You are a team player and able to motivate others. You have good communication and consultancy skills and you are persuasive.
