Instrumentation Project Engineer

Focus Engineering is looking for an Instrumentation Project Engineer for a plant owner in the gas industry in the Rotterdam region.

This is a vacancy for a permanent contract.

Your base location is in Rotterdam, but you will also need to travel abroad occasionally for projects.

Job description

• Preparing and managing project execution strategies, planning, and budget.
• Collaborating with technical disciplines, suppliers, and colleagues.
• Specifying instrumentation (control valves, transmitters, analyzers, etc.).
• Designing, installing, and commissioning field instrumentation.
• Participating in P&ID and HAZOP assessments.
• Assisting with factory and site acceptance testing.
• Troubleshooting critical instrumentation issues in the Northern Continent region.
• Responsible for the replacement of defective factory instrumentation.

Who are you?

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in instrumentation, with hands-on field experience.
• Engineering degree (Chemical, Mechanical, or Control & Instrumentation).
• Experience with analytical systems, DCS/PLC systems, and contractor management.
• Independent, communicative, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Flexible for travel within the region and willing to respond on short notice.
• Fluent in Dutch and English; additional languages are a plus.
