Position

Gilde Healthcare is looking for an intern to support the Private Equity team in the Dutch office for an internship of several months.

Background on Gilde

Gilde Healthcare is a specialized healthcare investor managing over €2.6 billion across two fund strategies: Private Equity and Venture & Growth. The Private Equity franchise of Gilde Healthcare, which you will be part of, invests in profitable healthcare companies in North-Western Europe, with the aim of growing the business to the next level with our active support and buy & build strategies. The Private Equity investment focus covers a broad range of healthcare companies, such as CROs & CDMOs, specialized medical product businesses, Healthcare IT, specialty pharma, outsourcing services and healthcare clinics. Our mission is to invest in companies that enable better care at lower cost.

In 2022, we have raised over €500 million for our fourth Private Equity fund. We are looking for an Intern to join our Utrecht team for 3 to 6 months. As we are continuously expanding our team, the intern position is an ideal position for you to gain experience in international Private Equity, as well as an opportunity for us to get to know you.

Position overview

In your role as an intern, you will be based in Utrecht and support the Private Equity team with its investments across Europe. You will be part of a team of ~3 interns. In the relatively short time frame you will work with us, we will try to involve you in the full cycle of deal making: from deal sourcing and target analysis to due diligence and even supporting in portfolio management. Furthermore, we have put together an extensive training program to teach you several technical skills that are important in PE and M&A, such as market research, modelling, sourcing, proposing and presenting an investment target, etc. You will have a dedicated mentor as your coach and sparring partner. You will work in close cooperation with the other members of our investment team.

Responsibilities

• Assist the investment team in various stages of the investment process
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential investment opportunities
• Participate in due diligence processes
• Support in the preparation of investment factsheets, proposals and presentations
• Collaborate with team members on deal sourcing and evaluation

Experience and education

• Strong analytical skills and a proven track record
• Currently enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor’s degree, or pursuing or graduated a Master’s degree in: business administration, economics, corporate law, medical or scientific discipline
• Previous internship experience in corporate finance, strategy consultancy, or private equity is highly valued
• Fluent in written and spoken English plus ideally one of the following languages: Dutch, German, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, French

General

• Proactive, self-driven, and possessing an entrepreneurial spirit, with the ability to identify and seize opportunities
• Commitment to work as a member of the investment team for a minimum of three months in Utrecht (located next to Utrecht Central Station with very frequent connections to Amsterdam)
