Bizcuit is a strong Fintech in the Dutch market, a pioneer in the field of embedded finance and a disruptor of Small & Medium Enterprise (SME) financial & administration technology. Our team works on app, embedded services and APIs that enable SMEs to establish the data flow between their bank account, bookkeeping system, and other systems, process invoices and receipts, and make payments, keeping their financial management easy, quick and secure.

We partner with banks, PSP's, accounting- and ERP-solutions to bring our embedded services to their SME customers. This way our partners can strengthen their SME propositions. We are supported by our partner Mastercard in this journey.

We are looking for an energetic and hands-on leader who thrives on working with the latest technologies, complex architectures and cutting-edge cloud solutions.

The Job

You will lead a team that is responsible for the core functionality of the product, ensuring that thousands of our users can continue to use our services in their daily business operations and expanding our offering to new user segments, partners, and regions.

You will be the driving force behind major technical initiatives, responsible for architectural decisions, planning and execution. You will be the owner of the most sensitive and complex parts of the system, like the connectors to bank APIs, data ingestion, and processing pipelines. As a hands-on leader, you will be heavily involved in the development of features and debugging efforts, implementing the most complex parts of the system, setting up cloud infrastructure, and taking firefighting shifts to address production issues.

You will lead by example and facilitate the growth of your fellow team members, making sure everybody is engaged and eager to deliver the best results to our customers, come up with new solutions, learn and grow together. You will work closely with a dedicated Product Owner and other shareholders to ensure that the priorities of business and tech are aligned.

Job requirements

Crucial skills

• Experience with distributed architectures (microservices and serverless), event-driven communication

• Expert knowledge of Node and TypeScript, good knowledge of different database types (relational, non-relational), GraphQL

• Good knowledge of AWS with a focus on efficiency, scalability, and costs (our stack is Lambdas, Fargate, RDS, DynamoDB, EventBridge, Redis)

• Good understanding of monitoring and observability tools (AWS CloudWatch, X-Ray, etc.)

• Good understanding of network and data security, previous experience working with sensitive data

• Experience leading a team of 4+ engineers

• Experience working in fast-paced environments

• Experience with agile workflows, ability to decide what approach works best in each situation

• Ability and eagerness to mentor, coach, and facilitate the growth of fellow team members

• Proactive in coming up with solutions, challenging product decisions, optimizing processes

• Focused on delivering business value

Preferred skills

• Experience working with financial data

• Experience working with third-party API providers (specifically banks and accounting systems)

• Experience with the SST framework
