About Demcon

Demcon Multiphysics, as an independent part of the Demcon Group, is a high-level mechanical and process engineering firm in the field of physical problems. We study heat transfer, fluid dynamics, mechanics, electromagnetism, acoustics and particle physics, always to solve a concrete engineering problem. With a team of about 25 people, spread over the locations Enschede, Eindhoven and Delft, we offer innovative solutions in the design, development and improvement of processes and devices in which physical processes play an important role. We use various tools (analytical, numerical, experimental) to further develop a concept design.

What are you going to do?

As a mechanical specialist, you are responsible for independently carrying out high-quality projects in the field of structural analysis. You will combine technical work with advisory and commercial activities. You are able to apply your knowledge at a high level of abstraction in the most diverse fields.

From your broad technical base, it is your job to recognize technical risks and think about how to solve them. The challenge is different in every project and typically you work on multiphysical problems, combining different types of loads, nonlinear behavior, fatigue, plastic deformation and more. With your technical knowledge you will inspire and convince your colleagues and act as an inquiry point within the department and projects.

During project set-up, you define the exact demand in close coordination with the customer and draw up the specifications. You get to work analyzing the problem definition using simulations to be performed by you. You will then assess the results for usability and on this basis, in close cooperation with the mechanical engineers, you will draw up a design that you will incorporate in a sound recommendation. You are responsible for presenting and communicating your advice to the customer. You are involved in substantive brainstorming, time estimates in quotation processes and you may present your advice to customers.

What do you bring to the table?

• A technical wo- or PhD degree (Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Physics or similar);
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in a high-tech environment
• Broad knowledge in the field of mechanics and you are able to apply this knowledge in practice and vice versa but also to think along within other fields;
• • Typical topics are: dynamic loads, thermal expansion, vibrations & vibration
  • Interface with fields such as: mechanical engineering, control, flow & thermal
• Experience with the use of high-end commercial simulation software (preferably Ansys Mechanical);
• Experience with CAD and drawing programs such as ANSYS SpaceClaim and/or Solidworks;
• A flexible attitude and you can switch quickly and pick up new things, you have a project-oriented approach and good communication skills both internally and externally.
• You speak and write fluently Dutch and English
• Social team player
