For our Retail & Americas department in Wageningen, we are looking for a Development Specialist Cheese. You will be part of a professional R&D team within a dynamic environment. Aside from your direct coworkers, you will work together with various stakeholders across FrieslandCampina, including operations, QA, technology, marketing, and sales, but also will have contact with external suppliers.

• A Master’s degree in food technology, food science, (bio)chemistry, or chemical engineering, preferably in the dairy technology field, and 4-6 years working experience in the food industry, more specifically in cheese or cheese technology.

Vacancy description

As a development specialist your main duties and responsibilities will include:

• Responsible for the development and implementation of new products and product changes in the factory in cooperation with Marketing, Operations, and QA.
• Responsible for the development and implementation of technical solutions to maintain and improve the quality of existing products in cooperation with QA, Operations, and Expert Teams.
• Initiation and organization of product tests on lab, pilot, and production scales, includes analysis and interpretation of results incorporated in well-written reports.
• Present findings to relevant stakeholders and peers.

You will be part of the Europe, Retail & Americas development team of about 40 R&D colleagues in the Innovation Centre of Wageningen. Within this larger team, you work in a team of 12 Development Specialists, who mainly work on cheese. This team is working in close cooperation with BG Retail & Americas, BG Europe, BG MEPA, and Supply Chain.
