What will you be working on?

You will work on the best-rated investment platform according to the “IEX Gouden Stier” that we won in 2023: the Semmie App. A hybrid product that is available on iOS, Android, and web. In addition to adding new future functionalities, you will work on test automation to ensure the quality of the application. We like to keep up with the times, so updating the frameworks we use to new versions and researching new techniques is done on a regular basis.

The app is powered by an advanced back-office system. In the background, there are various portals that are needed to serve the end customer well. Think of our well-rated customer service or relationship managers. Enough components to contribute to.

Which team will you end up in?

You will work closely with two frontend developers, two (external) backend developers and a QA team member who will carefully test your work. Our two designers and two product owners will carefully explain to you what needs to be built and what it will look like. Due to the short lines of communication, you as a developer still have plenty of room to discuss your own ideas. In addition, you have (for when you work in the office) your own permanent sit-stand desk with two monitors, so that you can read your code crystal clear.

What does your day look like?

You start somewhere between eight and nine and you still have time for that first cup of coffee, an “npm run start” command, and to think about what you did yesterday. So that you start the daily stand-up awake and well prepared. In between writing and reviewing code, you plunder the cookie/candy jar and have lunch together with all your colleagues. You can get some fresh air by walking the office dog, or just stretch your legs at your standing desk. Depending on the day, you participate in scrum events such as a refinement, planning or retro meeting. We end Friday with a drink, and your general knowledge is also tested with a fun trivia quiz.

What do we expect from you?

You have been in the business for a number of years and have already gained the necessary knowledge of various frameworks. We use Ionic in combination with Angular for the app. In addition to working on new components, you are also very good at investigating bugs deep into the original framework. Do you ever make a PR in Github in the original open source repository? You also like to follow developments in the market closely. For example, is our current state library still the right one? Finally, it is useful to live close enough to stroll around the office at least 3 times a week.

Here is a nice summary:

• 5+ years of experience with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, React, Vue;
  TypeScript: type safety is sacred, using any? No way…
• You know RXJS operators and observables inside and out;
• State management such as NgRx, when do you store data locally and for how long? You know it;
• Monorepo structures such as Nx and thinking in terms of reusable small pieces of code is included anyway;
• Using Xcode and Android Studio to roll out a new release? No problem!
• You test your functions yourself with Jest, or something similar;
• You use CI/CD to make your life easier. Can you make a Github action for this?
• You know what is possible with cloud services such as Azure and AWS;
• Integrations with APIs are a piece of cake. New features? You have already figured out how you would like it to be delivered;
• A basic understanding of Dutch or at least a good Duolingo streak to prove that it’s a work in progress.

But above all: you are very eager to learn! Can’t you do everything on this list (yet)? Everything is negotiable, as long as you want to keep learning and developing, we will get there together.
