Are you passionate about shipbuilding and eager to make a tangible impact in a dynamic and innovative company? Join us at Royal IHC, where your expertise will drive the success of our large-scale projects and shape the future of maritime technology.

As a Category Manager for integrated systems, you will be responsible for establishing and sustaining strategic relationships with suppliers who provide integrated systems (electrical, HVAC, and mission equipment) on our large shipbuilding projects. These collaborations begin during the proposal stage of the project, and you ensure smooth transition into the execution phase where contracts are finalized.

In this role you:

  • Develop, manage and maintain strategic partnerships with suppliers responsible for the delivery of integrated systems such as electrical systems, HVAC and mission equipment.
  • Collaborate with the proposal teams early on for partner selection and quotes.
  • Transition seamlessly into the execution phase of the project, overseeing the procurement process and closing contracts with these suppliers.
  • Manage key supplier accounts and monitor market trends.
  • Ensure that all procurement activities align with the strategic goals of Royal IHC and contribute to the overall success of our projects.
  • Review (new) supplier requests.

You will work closely with:

  • Proposal Teams: Collaborating during the initial phases of shipbuilding projects to select the strategic partner to make the project a success.
  • Engineering Teams: Working together to ensure technical specifications and requirements are met by the suppliers.
  • Project Procurement Teams: Aligning procurement activities with project timelines and objectives to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Legal Department: Ensuring all contracts comply with legal standards and contribute to risk management strategies.

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in (Electrical) Engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the shipbuilding or maritime industry and proven expertise in the field of Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong commercial acumen combined with substantial technical knowledge.
  • Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts successfully.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Fluency in Dutch and English.

Please note that only candidates with valid EU work visa will be considered as viable candidates.

* These requirements give a direction to the profile we are looking. At Royal IHC, we warmly welcome anyone to join us, regardless of their background, disabilities or challenges. For example: research shows that male candidates apply if there is a 60% match and women only when there is a 100% match. Do you not meet all the requirements but do you think that this is the position for you? Then we would like to invite you to apply.

Royal IHC offers you:

  • A gross monthly salary between €6824,- and €8500,- +8% holiday allowance (based on a fulltime working week).
  • Good work/life balance with 40 vacation days for full-time employment with the option to buy or sell (additional) leave.
  • The possibility to work (partly) from home with associated expense allowance and/or to perform the work on the basis of flexible working hours (depending on the position).
  • An average salary pension scheme in which matters are properly arranged in the event of accidental death, incapacity for work or unemployment.
  • Good disability insurance.
  • Participation (on a voluntary basis) in the Social Fund, on the basis of which care and related costs are reimbursed that are not covered by your health insurance.
  • Discount on VGZ's additional healthcare insurance.
  • A training budget of €1,500 every three years.
  • Unlimited sporting in our own fitness room (in exchange for the sustainable employability day).
