Sustainability Specialist

Sustainability Specialist

As sustainability specialist you work on improving sustainability on the farm. You will run projects with different characteristics, like for example climate, nature, animal welfare, and tools. In order to be successful you have to have knowledge of Dutch farming systems and on the other side knowledge of how projects are run, including time management and stakeholder management.

In addition you

  • Work together in a team of experts, co-building the Farm sustainability programs;
  • Give advice on improving sustainability to a variety of (internal) stakeholders, with and without sustainability expertise
  • Follow the latest developments on farm sustainability
  • Represent FrieslandCampina at external meetings like conferences, working groups, while balancing the interest of the dairy sector as well as sustainability

What we ask

  • Academic degree in environmental science, agriculture, animal science, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of work experience (or a PhD).
  • Familiar with Dutch farming systems, including regenerative agriculture and circular farming.
  • Project management skills, with a results-driven mindset.
  • Team player who is pragmatic, proactive, and considers farmers' interests.
  • Fluent in English, with openness to learning Dutch.

  • Salary between €3.800 and €6,000 per month, depending on knowledge and experience (full-time);
  • Full-time workweek of 38 hours, 5% year-end bonus, 10% bonus, and a pension;

  • NS business card for train travel or €0.23 per km travel allowance (max 30 km one way).
  • 200 hours of annual leave, the option to buy or sell 40 extra hours, and 8% holiday allowance;

For the Farm Sustainable team (part of Corporate Sustainability) we are looking for an independent and enthusiastic sustainability specialist with experience in project management. We work from both Wageningen and Amersfoort one day a week as a team and embrace a hybrid way of working for the rest of the week.
