Industrial Engineering Internship

Introduction

The sector Development & Engineering (D&E) of ASML is responsible for the specification, design, and realization of the products in the ASML portfolio. Within the sector D&E, the department Electronic Development (EDEV) defines, realizes, and qualifies the electronic functions and modules of these products. In the Manufacturing & Equipment Engineering Source group within EDEV, we industrialize designs of electronic solutions. We are a group of more than 25 people with various backgrounds and nationalities. One of our main challenges is to manage the complexity while having efficient processes and tools that enable it.

Your Assignment

For this assignment, identify the 'waste in manufacturing operations and processes' by using Lean methodology.

  • Interview stakeholders about the challenges in the current processes.
  • Investigate what is currently in place within ASML.
  • Create a concept that can fulfill the needs of stakeholders.
  • Discuss the proposals with stakeholders.
  • Realize the selected concept/design.
  • Get content from the stakeholders and implement it.
  • Document how the data collection and reporting is set up and how to maintain it.

This is an apprentice internship (to gain work experience) for 5/6 months. The start date is flexible (latest starting date Sept '25). A Bachelor Thesis is possible in case of a maximum duration of 6 months.

Your Profile

To be a perfect fit for this assignment, you:

  • Are a bachelor or master student in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrialization Engineering

You have technical know-how on:

  • Product development and engineering
  • Data Analysis
  • Concepts of lean manufacturing
  • Good communication skills (English - both verbal and written)
  • Logical reasoning and critical thinking

Other requirements you need to meet:

  • You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;
