Internship Infrastructure Private Equity
The PGGM Infrastructure team is looking for enthusiastic interns who want to work for a period of 3 months in an international investment team.
As an intern:
- You have the opportunity to work on all aspects of the investment process, such as generating leads through sector studies, due diligence and valuation work during acquisition processes, or value creation projects at our portfolio companies.
- You gain experience in analyzing investment opportunities, financial modelling and presenting your findings to the PGGM Infrastructure team.
- You work in the investment team and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders involved in transactions, portfolio companies and/or sector/market research.
PGGM Infrastructure is a leading institutional direct investor with open-end funds and has a focus on impact investing and investments in the energy transition. We invest in companies that are essential for society, create long-term value and have a positive impact. The Infrastructure team is a young, international and diverse group of c. 40 investment professionals who manage c. 30 portfolio companies.
The team manages two separate mandates:
- The Infrastructure mandate: An infrastructure private equity portfolio of €14 billion, which operates globally in four sectors:
- Energy & Utilities (e.g. renewable energy, district heating, biofuels and water treatment)
- Digital (e.g. fiber optic networks, transmission towers and data centers)
- Transport (e.g. toll roads, ports and aircraft/train leasing companies)
- Social & PPP (e.g. student housing, hospitals and schools)
- The Climate and Energy Transition Solutions (CETS) mandate: A €1 billion mandate focusing on late stage venture and growth equity investments. From this mandate we solely invest in European fast-growing companies that develop technologies and products that directly contribute to reducing or avoiding carbon emissions.
- Numerically strong, with preferably an academic background in economics, business, finance or STEM;
- Broadly developed through extracurricular activities, such as internships, top-level sports, board/committee work at a student organization, relevant part-time jobs or volunteer work;
- Internationally oriented, hands-on, curious, entrepreneurial, analytical and ambitious;
- Studying or graduated at a Dutch university;
- Excellent communication and writing skills in English (Dutch language is not a requirement).
- Learning from highly motivated investment professionals in an international environment;
- Working on projects that have a positive impact on societies worldwide, for example through accelerating the energy transition, mitigating biodiversity loss or supporting digitalization;
- Contributing to the pension of 5.4 million participants of the fund;
- Internship allowance of €1016 per month, full reimbursement of travel expenses, and reimbursement of costs associated with working from home (c. €70 per month)
- An opportunity for a full-time offer to join our team as an Analyst in case of excellent performance.
