Management Traineeship: Technology

Step into a three-year program designed for those early in their careers who are eager to grow into future leaders at ASML. Throughout the management traineeship, you’ll rotate across multiple departments, gaining broad exposure to both strategic and technical challenges. This cross-sectoral experience empowers you to take initiative, work on impactful projects, and develop the leadership skills necessary to thrive in a fast-evolving industry. Multiple trainees will have the opportunity to nurture their leadership potential, receive extensive guidance, and learn from inspiring role models. You’ll gain unique on-the-job experience, contributing to the development of advanced systems that enable breakthroughs in AI, 5G, and beyond – shaping solutions that impact everyday life.

Role and responsibilities

Through our management traineeship, you will unlock your potential and develop a well-rounded understanding of ASML. Every 9 months, you will rotate into a new and different assignment (leading to four assignments). You will have the opportunity to undertake various roles within all of the following sectors at ASML: Development & Engineering, Manufacturing, Strategic Sourcing and Procurement, Planning & Delivery, Customer Support, and IT. While you’ll operate in a technical environment, your role will not require a focus on any specific technical expertise. Instead, the assignments will challenge you to incorporate various skills and a well-rounded understanding.

As a management trainee (in technology), you will:

  • Create your own assignments, each holding a high-over technical or IT component with concrete deliverables.
  • Work in an inclusive environment with projects aimed at enhancing efficiency, innovation, management and/or product development, with focus areas such as ESG sustainability or cost reduction.
  • Follow a tailored learning journey to develop your leadership skills, strategic mindset, and interpersonal capabilities.
  • Be guided by a senior leader, senior stakeholders from the sectors and a development coach, who will empower you through your journey at ASML.
  • Gain global experience through two 3-month international assignments (e.g., in Asia, USA, and/or Berlin).
  • Collaborate with fellow trainees and colleagues at all levels of the organization and build up a broad network.

Education and experience

Performing well under pressure and thriving in a fast-paced environment is essential to succeed as an ASML management trainee. Here, you’ll need:

  • A bachelor’s, master’s or PhD degree in any technical, IT, supply chain related background
  • A maximum of 1 year of relevant working experience (internships are not included within this timeframe)
  • You have completed your education less than 1 year ago or will be fully graduated before 1st September 2025
  • Availability to start the traineeship on September 1st, 2025
  • Preferably – but not mandatory – experience in extracurricular activities, such as serving as part of the board for a student association or volunteer work

Skills

Working at the cutting edge of technology, you will always have new challenges that arise and new problems to solve. Working together is the only way to achieve this. You won’t work in a silo. Instead, you’ll be part of a creative, dynamic work environment where you’ll collaborate with supportive colleagues. There is always space for creative and unique points of view. You’ll have the flexibility and trust to choose how to best tackle tasks and solve challenges.

To thrive in this job, you’ll need the following skills:

  • Ability to understand the big picture and align efforts accordingly.
  • Capacity to think creatively and innovatively with willingness to adapt to diverse situations.
  • Ability to nurture relationships and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • A sense of resilience, learning agility, and a flexible mindset.
