Software Engineering Internship (Non-Thesis): PERTy Tool Finalization

Introduction

ASML YieldStar is an optical metrology tool that can quickly and accurately measure the quality of patterns on the wafer. Due to the accuracy and performance needed, the buildup and calibration of all Yieldstar components has to be well orchestrated. Orchestration now makes use of a tool called PERTy, referencing the technique used in the tool: Program Evaluation & Review Technique.

Your Assignment

This will be a continuation/finalization-internship for the PERTy tool. The tool is used whenever new prototypes are created and hence forms an important part of our development chain.

The newly created tooling so far has many of its requirements covered but the open items are:

  • After review with the Test and Integration team more requirements were defined and this possibly results in the need for two separate tools being derived from the same codebase.
  • The current implementation needs to be fully finalized.
  • Tests are to be conducted with both new and current PERTs in order to check completeness with regard to the requirements.

The internship will contain:

  • Collaboration with stakeholders to finalize/crosscheck requirements.
  • Creating an architectural overview of the tooling and software design.
  • Design and implement functionality to import from and export to JIRA/Visio
  • Creation of a test design for the tool and make it part of our CI/CD chain.
  • Coding in JavaScript/C#.

Highlights:

  • Challenging tasks.
  • Be part of one of the multidisciplinary teams in YieldStar.
  • Experience working in a scrum team under the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), in an Agile Release Train.
  • Be supervised by a software expert.
  • Get to know more about the Software Development Life Cycle in a real-life product.

This internship offers both technical and organizational challenges and will give the intern a very thorough view of how Yieldstar products are created and how the R&D around it is organized.

Your Profile

To be a match for this internship, you:

  • Are a (HBO) bachelor student in Software Engineering, Computer Science, IT or a related field.
  • Have affinity for React framework, webdesign and user interface design.
  • Have worked with C# and/or JavaScript, or are willing to learn how to use it.

This is a (HBO) bachelor apprentice internship for a minimum of 6 months, for 4 to 5 days per week (at least 3 days onsite). The start date of this internship is as soon as possible (flexible).

Other Requirements You Need to Meet

  • You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;
  • You are located in the Netherlands to perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate;
  • If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).
