While drinking your first cup of coffee, you hear your colleagues discussing a new project. A producer of energy coffee wants to get its cans in and out of the retort as efficiently as possible and opts for an automated line with a shuttle. That means work to be done for you as a Software Project Engineer.
You are responsible for all software and control related matters during the design phase, engineering, assembly, testing and commissioning of this project. Such as writing software for machine control, control panels, robot control, servo and safety systems. Afterwards, you walk to the production hall where a fellow engineer is testing a machine from your project. You help him to detect an error and immediately ask whether he is still on schedule: check!
In the afternoon you sit down with colleagues from mechanical and electrical to work out a new concept for a module that checks whether the trays are empty. So late already? You quickly fill in your travel application. Because in two weeks you will fly to America for the commissioning of a pouch handling system. As a Software Project Engineer, you are often the last link in the process: you make sure the machine runs perfectly before you go home.
A completely new supermarket experience. Huh, what?! Really.
Once you start working at Lan Handling, shopping will never be the same again. From that day on, you will turn over all the pouches, cans and jars you see.
You’ll find yourself always checking: yes! we also handle this product with our machines! But that’s not all of course:
