The Challenge

We are looking for a Safety, Health and Environment (S.H.E.) Manager, with a big passion for safety, health, and biscuits. We offer you the opportunity to join our team and contribute to our mission to bring ‘Happiness with every bite’.

The position entails

The Safety, Health and Environment Manager's mission is to reduce and control industrial risks within the company in order to guarantee the safety and health of employees. Further, the SHE manager is taking care of all environmental aspects related to the plant. The HSE Manager is a member of the management committee and supervises a team of 1 person.

Security and Prevention

  • Define the objectives in terms of industrial risk prevention according to the regulatory context (legislative framework, labels, and certifications) and the company objectives.
  • Constantly monitor changes in standards and regulations (radaring).
  • Develop the Safety Management System (SMS) as ISO45001.
  • Provide operational support and guidance to all managers and employees.
  • Design and lead internal training actions, to raise awareness of risk prevention among the teams.
  • Develop the "safety culture", raise awareness among teams of the HSE approach and compliance with procedures.
  • Involve staff in the prevention of risks, of occupational accidents and in improving working conditions.
  • Establish prevention programs to reduce incidents, occupational accidents and diseases, and psychosocial risks.
  • Drafting, enforcing, and controlling safety rules in the company and at workstations, as well as wearing of personal protective equipment.
  • Reporting (LTAR, etc), risk assessments (RI&E), audits, inspections.
  • Do daily GEMBA walks to reinforce the culture of safety on the shopfloor.
  • Identify, analyze, and prioritize occupational risks by observing employees' working conditions, in order to reduce their impact and propose improvement actions.
  • Manage crisis and business continuity situations and the emergency response plan, apply instructions and procedures for fire safety, evacuation, and accidental spills.
  • Inform, Alert one's superiors in the event of a risk situation and emergency, and important subjects relating to the safety of goods and people.
  • Identify malfunctions and non-conformities and analyze the chain of causes in the event of incidents, accidents, near misses. (Root cause analysis)
  • Define and deploy the associated preventive and corrective action plans.

Environment

  • Develop the Environmental Management System (EMS) as per ISO14001.
  • Provide operational support and guidance to all pilots.
  • Welcome, design and lead internal training actions, to raise awareness among internal teams and newcomers.
  • Works together with Engineering and Maintenance to reduce energy consumption and water usage.
  • Supports different departments in the overall reduction of waste.

Health

  • Proactively propose and collaborate on health-related projects for example improving ergonomic conditions.
  • Review and monitor the provisions applicable to health and safety management and constantly seek to improve areas for improvement.
  • Establish plans and strategies for work systems with a view to reducing health and safety risks, such as recommending appropriate adjustments to machinery and processes.

Regulation

  • Ensure the mandatory periodic inspection of the materials and equipment present on the site.
  • Welcome and interact with representatives of legal bodies: firefighters, labour inspectorate.
  • Chair the “works council SHE committee”.

Management and Strategy

  • Define the roadmap (Define the indicators; Analyze risks; Develop an action plan).
  • Managing your teams.
  • Conduct a training and skills development policy.
  • Ensure their versatility and/or repositioning.
  • Lead, manage and motivate your management teams with the objective of initiative, autonomy, responsibility and performance.

What do you bring?

  • With a higher education (General Engineer/QSE Master's degree, etc.), you have proven experience as an HSE Manager, Project Manager, Production Manager, in an industrial context with high stakes related to safety and environmental issues.
  • Both a man or woman in the field and an actor of change, you have been able to develop the qualities of a project manager and assert yourself in the managerial function. You have a real appetite for subjects related to the environment and CSR.
  • With real leadership, you will be recognized internally and externally for your rigor and your high standards in your field. You will be able to establish yourself as a real force for proposals to promote an HSE culture, and a global CSR approach, within our company.
  • Professional Dutch and English is required.
