About this work area

IKEA Netherlands is looking for an Accounting & Reporting Specialist. In this role, you will work in the Finance department of IKEA Netherlands in Haarlem. The Finance department is the spider in the web when it comes to receiving, processing, and delivering all kinds of financial information. The team consists of 14 direct colleagues. You will also collaborate with the Shared Service Centre in Bangalore. The company is in transformation and continuous improvement and embracement of change is of great importance in this role. You enjoy working in a changing environment, you take initiative and have the ability to adapt your ways of working rapidly.

What you'll be doing day to day

As Accounting & Reporting Specialist you are responsible for the co-ordination and execution of day-to-day controlling and accounting tasks as well as providing assistance to business projects:

  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Prepare monthly/yearly and ad hoc reporting activities for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure completeness and correctness of Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss accounting.
  • Make sure that accounting and controlling processes are in place and implement and improve ways of working.
  • Support business users and management with accounting and controlling related questions and analysis.
  • Support year-end audits and prepare the requested documentation for auditors.
  • Participate in business projects.

Next to this you will have the opportunity to develop yourself in different areas like power-bi, leadership, and implementing a new ERP system where you will play a crucial role for the rest of the organization.

  • Bachelor, preferable in business administration or economics.
  • Minimum 0-5 years of relevant work experience in Controlling and Finance.
  • Good financial modeling skills as well as business and data analysis skills.
  • Financial software (Excel, Power BI, SAP) & MS Office.
  • Fluent Dutch and English.
  • Analytical abilities, problem-solving skills, and ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
