A key process in Veghel site is the extraction and purification of lactoferrin from cow milk. Lactoferrin is a valuable protein found in milk at low concentrations and is considered one of the most important ingredients in the dairy industry. Due to its low concentration in milk, its extraction and purification rely on a series of chromatography and filtration processes.
The objective of this internship assignment is to analyse and improve product displacement during the lactoferrin filtration process. The intern will investigate the current manufacturing workflow, identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies, and propose strategies to optimize product displacement. The goal is to achieve higher yield, improved product quality, and reduced waste during production.

The technology department on site Veghel is preparing for the future and aiming to continuously improve our processes. We want to contribute to sustaining for generations to come. Dashboarding enables us to see long term shifts, but also see problems before they escalate. Dashboarding will mainly be built in Power BI which is based on Excel and other data sources like SAP, OEE tools, etc.

Technology team Veghel is a team of 25 technologists who have a working experience between 0 and 30 years. We like our job and to discuss the challenges it faces during lunch but we also like to go out for a lunch walk and discuss subjects not related to work. We have a big open office in which it is easy to ask for help when needed. The culture is very open and it is easy to walk to the operations manager of logistic manager when needed without an appointment.
Our office is in the middle of plant Veghel between all the production plants. This makes it easy to walk to production for a simple question or check. The operators like to think with you for a solution of your problem.
