Join Picnic as an Equipment Lead

Picnic is looking for an Equipment Lead for our Fulfilment Center in Utrecht. Our automated Fulfilment centers are the most advanced of their kind, delivering fresh groceries to thousands of households daily. As our Equipment Lead, you act as the asset owner of the Material Handling Equipment. In this role, you have full responsibility over the installation, making sure it’s well-maintained, continuously improved, and used in an optimal way. You are the linking pin between our maintenance partner (TGW), your colleagues on the value streams that use the installation, and your own team of Equipment Operators who perform first line issue resolution.

🎯 What will you do?

  • Lead the team: Guide and support a diverse team of operations managers and equipment operators, helping them grow and succeed.
  • Optimize maintenance performance: Work closely with our integration partner, and coordinate their team of engineers to keep everything running smoothly.
  • Coordinate with on-site operations: Collaborate with other Value Stream Leads to ensure everything runs on time and to standard.
  • Use data for improvements: Partner with analysts to find ways to reduce waste, boost equipment uptime, and enhance maintenance with data insights.
  • Oversee contracts & performance: Manage contracts, performance standards, and budgets with our integration partner.
  • Solve and prevent issues: Analyze major issues, find the root causes, and create solutions. Plan inspections and preventative maintenance based on guidelines and system data.

⭐ About you

  • You hold a degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • You have several years of experience in maintenance coordination, with a focus on preventative and reactive maintenance.
  • Ideally, you bring some leadership experience in a similar setting.
  • You have a strong understanding and hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical systems; experience with automated systems and conveyors is a plus.
  • You’re proactive in spotting opportunities for improvement and have experience executing projects.
  • You communicate clearly and effectively, working well with both technical teams and leadership.
  • You’re fluent in Dutch and English.

You'll receive a competitive compensation package, including:

  • 25 vacation days per year to recharge your batteries.
