Risk Model Expert

Broaden your horizon as a Risk Model Expert at the head office of the Netherlands’ largest insurance company. You will use advanced modelling techniques to strengthen the internal model of NN Group, both from a model development as well as model validation perspective. Your contribution will help us to determine the capital we need to remain as financially robust as we are now.

What you are going to do

You will use your vast experience to strengthen our financial models. This role has primary validation and development of our internal risk model. This internal model calculates different risks, from credit and equity risk models to longevity and persistency models. Although this role has a special focus on the internal model, you can also engage your expertise and perform validation on our Standard Formula and cash-flow models within the whole NN.

You will operate like an internal risk consultant, improve the NN Group’s internal model by validating and developing different model options, ensuring our models fit best our risk profile and business needs.

Who you are

You are a good communicator and dedicated team player, with the ability to convey complex issues in a simple way to top management and your colleagues in the field. You like a dynamic environment and you also have:

• A Master’s degree in econometrics, actuarial science, quantitative finance or a relevant technical background
• Multiple years of proven experience in risk modelling, preferably experience in both development and validation of financial risk models and/or cash-flow modelling
• Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills, a good understanding of Solvency II and related Internal Models for the insurance industry
• Modelling skills and an eagerness to develop these skills further. Also, experience with data management is relevant for the role
• Experience with programming is a plus

You will be joining the Model Expert Team that is part of the Risk Models & Analytics (RM&A) department at NN’s Group Risk organisation. This team acts as an overarching development and validation team for our Internal Model. Here, you will be part of the Model Expert team, an international team that is highly motivated and results-driven, with an open, collaborative and informal atmosphere.
