Supports, enables, and drives the effective implementation of key business initiatives by providing sound leadership and advice enabling Associates to make ethical and compliant decisions and take smart risks.
Major Accountabilities
- Leads the engagement of local leaders and educating Novartis Associates in building a strong ethical culture in complying with applicable laws, regulations and industry codes, and Novartis policies and procedures.
- Empowers associates to do what's right by building a sustainable culture that is anchored in ethics, integrity and speaking up.
- Builds cross-functional partnerships to provide sound counsel and facilitate smart risk-taking across the business.
- Champions an innovative and compliance mindset that embraces agility and creativity without compromising on ethical standards.
- Establishes appropriate risk management, internal controls and monitoring to prevent, detect and respond to unlawful and unethical behaviour.
- Conducts compliance risk assessments including third-party due diligence audits and other applicable self-assessments to monitor the status of the Compliance programme.
- Works with the business to identify, categorize and manage key risks.
- Develops and implements local communication and training plans on relevant policies and procedures based on overall group plans and Association of British Pharmaceutical Industry Code of Practice training requirements.
- Actively engages in local external and internal Compliance networks to identify emerging trends in the local market, regulatory environment shares best-practices.
- Supports the identification and remediation of misconduct.
- Supports the Country Ethics Risk Compliance Head with other compliance tasks and initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
- University degree in a relevant or related field.
- Professional English level spoken and written.
- Collaborating across boundaries.
- Cross cultural experience.
- Innovative and enterprise mindset and willingness to continuously learn.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Good Project Management and Operational Excellence standards.
- Ability to drive a compliance culture.
- Compliance reporting procedures, monitoring, controls testing and business partnering.
- Strong knowledge of the ABPI code of practice.
