Supports, enables, and drives the effective implementation of key business initiatives by providing sound leadership and advice enabling Associates to make ethical and compliant decisions and take smart risks.

Major Accountabilities

  • Leads the engagement of local leaders and educating Novartis Associates in building a strong ethical culture in complying with applicable laws, regulations and industry codes, and Novartis policies and procedures.
  • Empowers associates to do what's right by building a sustainable culture that is anchored in ethics, integrity and speaking up.
  • Builds cross-functional partnerships to provide sound counsel and facilitate smart risk-taking across the business.
  • Champions an innovative and compliance mindset that embraces agility and creativity without compromising on ethical standards.
  • Establishes appropriate risk management, internal controls and monitoring to prevent, detect and respond to unlawful and unethical behaviour.
  • Conducts compliance risk assessments including third-party due diligence audits and other applicable self-assessments to monitor the status of the Compliance programme.
  • Works with the business to identify, categorize and manage key risks.
  • Develops and implements local communication and training plans on relevant policies and procedures based on overall group plans and Association of British Pharmaceutical Industry Code of Practice training requirements.
  • Actively engages in local external and internal Compliance networks to identify emerging trends in the local market, regulatory environment shares best-practices.
  • Supports the identification and remediation of misconduct.
  • Supports the Country Ethics Risk Compliance Head with other compliance tasks and initiatives.

Minimum Requirements

  • University degree in a relevant or related field.
  • Professional English level spoken and written.
  • Collaborating across boundaries.
  • Cross cultural experience.
  • Innovative and enterprise mindset and willingness to continuously learn.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Good Project Management and Operational Excellence standards.
  • Ability to drive a compliance culture.
  • Compliance reporting procedures, monitoring, controls testing and business partnering.
  • Strong knowledge of the ABPI code of practice.
