The Social Hub is looking for an investment off-cycle trainee (minimum of 6 months, with extension possible, and possibly followed by a hiring) to join the investment team based in Amsterdam and be a key contributor to the European expansion of the company. This is a diversified role that includes assessing new opportunities and supporting the company in its general expansion. Given the size of the projects we acquire and develop, the role implies having a real impact in the transformation and regeneration of the areas where we invest. The position is suited for someone who wants to work in a very entrepreneurial environment (backed by leading institutional investment firms) with the mentality to help build one of the leading European hotel chains in Europe. In order to be successful in this role you have to learn fast, have a hands-on approach and be capable of working with tight deadlines on various projects, directly reporting to the senior management. The position is based in Amsterdam and might require travel in Europe if needed.

This paid traineeship starts as soon as possible for a minimum of 6 months (longer period preferred) with the intention to be transformed into a full-time position in the investment team. 😊

What You’ll Do:

• Assisting the investment team in market research, modelling, analyses, due diligence, execution of transactions and investor relations.
• Performing analyses of investment opportunities, current performance of the company, including valuation, cash-flow and operating models.
• Preparing, updating and running financial models.
• Drafting investment presentations and memoranda for a wider audience within the firm and the investment committee.
• Attending team discussions and liaising with external partners and advisors.
• Day-to-day work will be varied and comprise a mix of sourcing, execution, meetings with advisors, preparing analyses and administration.

Who You Are:

• Previous internship experience in either investment banking, consulting, transaction services or acquisitions.
• About to graduate from a top tier business school, engineering school or university with outstanding academic qualifications.
• Ability to prepare complex financial analyses and models with strong Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills that put you at ease with financial data.
• Capacity to interact directly with senior management.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and changing situations.
• Fluent in English. Proficiency in another European language is a plus.
• Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and succinctly.
• Naturally curious, innovative and constantly looking for ways to improve upon things.
• Willing to be based in Amsterdam, ability to travel and eligible to work in the EU.
