Are you seeking an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic data team within a highly ambitious international company in the Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) industry? For our Global Data team we are currently seeking for an experienced Data Engineer at Kiwa Corporate ICT in Rijswijk!

Overview

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our data infrastructure with a focus on sustainability and ESG reporting. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure data is accessible, reliable, and optimized for various business needs. Your expertise in Databricks, Azure DevOps, Azure Data Factory, Fabric, SQL, Python, star schema modeling, and CSRD/ESG will be crucial in building scalable and efficient data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement data pipelines using Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and other relevant tools;
  • Develop and maintain ETL processes to ensure data quality and integrity;
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions;
  • Optimize and manage data storage solutions, ensuring high performance and scalability;
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps;
  • Develop and maintain data models, including star schema modeling, to support business intelligence and analytics;
  • Write efficient SQL queries and scripts to extract, transform, and load data;
  • Utilize Python for data processing, automation, and integration tasks;
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and workflows to ensure smooth operation;
  • Integrate and manage ESG data sources to support sustainability reporting and compliance with CSRD;
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve our data infrastructure.

Your proactive approach helps advance data practices across the organization.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field;
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role;
  • Strong experience with Databricks, Azure DevOps, Azure Data Factory, and Fabric;
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python;
  • Solid understanding of data modeling concepts, including star schema modeling;
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems;
  • Background in CSRD/ESG reporting and data integration;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail;
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • You live in The Netherlands and are allowed to work here.

In this role, you will be a key member of Kiwa’s Global Data team within Corporate ICT. The team consists of many experienced colleagues and has an informal atmosphere. Your work is hybrid, working from the Rijswijk office and, if desired, for up to 40% of your time from home. Occasional travelling to other Kiwa offices can be part of the role, as Kiwa operates in over 40 countries worldwide. As part of the CIO Office within Corporate ICT, you will collaborate with various data technology suppliers on complex, knowledge-intensive projects. Additionally, as a part of SHV Holding, you will have the opportunity to engage with data specialists from other SHV groups, fostering a broader data community.
