About the job

At MediaMarkt Benelux, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional products and services to our customers and suppliers. As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced and proactive Teamleader Billing Specialists to join our Finance team. This role is vital in leading our billing operations while ensuring financial accuracy, process efficiency, and a positive team dynamic.

You will lead a diverse and collaborative team of professionals from different backgrounds and ages, working in a supportive and informal environment. You’ll split your time between our HQ in Rotterdam and working from home.

As the Teamleader Billing Specialists, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the billing processes for our 2,500 suppliers. This includes managing the team, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations, and driving process improvements. You’ll play a key role in maintaining financial integrity while fostering a high-performing team culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Billing Specialists to achieve departmental goals and ensure their professional growth.
• Oversee the accurate and timely preparation, issuance, and tracking of invoices to suppliers.
• Address escalated disputes and discrepancies in invoices, ensuring prompt resolution.
• Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on outstanding invoices, and ensure timely collections.
• Implement best practices in billing operations, including compliance with industry standards and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and streamline operations using Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
• Collaborate with the IT team to optimize billing software and systems.
• Act as the primary point of contact for complex billing issues and liaise with internal stakeholders across departments, including Sales and Finance.
• Ensure alignment and efficiency across the sales-to-cash chain.

Who are you?

You’re a hands-on leader with strong organizational skills and a passion for process optimization. You combine financial expertise with a people-first approach, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Additionally, you have:

• Proven experience (3+ years) in billing, accounts receivable, or a similar role, with at least 2 years in a leadership position.
• Experience in dispute management and process improvement.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
• Familiarity with financial systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
