Maintenance Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Engineer to join our Technical Department in Delft, the Netherlands.

Allseas fleet consists of a heavy lift vessel, a nodules collection vessel, pipe laying vessels and barges, offshore support vessels and several supply vessels. In total we now have over 300 Megawatt of installed power which has quadrupled over the last ten years. Our Technical department consists of over 50 persons in various roles to support our vessels, sites and projects in the most safe, efficient and sustainable manner possible.

Technical department plays a large role in the continuous improvement of our company and the increasing technical capabilities and capacity of our fleet. One of the major projects ongoing for the Maintenance Engineering team is the implementation of a new Maintenance Management System, which will enable more data driven management decisions.

Your role

With the implementation of the new Maintenance Management System Allseas is looking for a Maintenance Engineer with proven experience in the Maritime industry and with strong affinity in the setup of maintenance strategies and analysis of maintenance related data. This to ensure the continuous improvement of a company-wide maintenance strategy for the Allseas vessels and production equipment.

This also includes regular vessel visits to provide adequate technical support to the Vessel Management Teams and office for the planned maintenance system.

Tasks

  • Utilize data analytics tools and techniques to identify trends, predict maintenance budgets, and optimize preventive maintenance schedules;
  • Improvement of our Preventive Maintenance System, enhancing reliability, efficiency, and safety across our fleet;
  • Provide technical expertise and support to onboard and onshore teams, ensuring adherence to maintenance protocols and standards;
  • Strong affinity in data analysis and interpretation, with experience using data analytics tools and software;
  • Define critical equipment and strategic spares for the Allseas equipment;
  • Set up preventive maintenance schedules for critical equipment;
  • Ascertain that maintenance of equipment complies with legal requirements and safety standards issued by IMO, flag states, classification agencies, Allseas or other relevant bodies;
  • Measure maintenance performance by using Key Performance Indicators: Analyse data as steering tool for continuous improvement;
  • Identify new maintenance concepts and investigate their potential use;
  • Participate in risk workshops (design review, FME(C)A);
  • Participate in lessons learnt and continuous improvement initiatives (RCA);
  • Advise on inventory management and ensure adequate levels of the correct parts kept in stock.

What we expect from you

  • BSc/MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Technology or equivalent
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in maintenance engineering in an offshore or marine environment
  • Knowledge of rules and regulations of classification societies and flag states
  • Demonstrable experience with reliability centered maintenance and risk-based maintenance
  • Good computer skills
  • Knowledge and experience with the marine or offshore industry and ships equipment
  • Knowledge of and experience with ERP (ideally Tero Marine) and Asset Management software
  • Ample experience with using and set up of data analytics tools (business intelligence, dashboards)
  • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken
  • Willingness to travel
