TenneT is growing fast to realize its strategic ambitions. We play a leading role in driving the energy transition. We are looking for a passionate Sub Project Lead Cable Installation at our location in Arnhem who will contribute to this and that might be you? 🌍

Your contribution to TenneT

In the role of Sub Project Lead Cable Installation, you will be involved in the design, construction, and commissioning of three 2GW grid connections. These connections will link the Ijmuiden Ver Beta, Ijmuiden Ver Gamma, and Nederwiek 2 wind farm sites to the 380kV high voltage substation at the Maasvlakte. Specifically, you will focus on the 525 kV DC cable bundle that NKT will manufacture and install between the offshore HVDC converter and the onshore converter.

Role Overview: As the Sub Project Lead for Offshore Cable Installation, you will, alongside another sub-project lead, manage the entire technical scope of subsea cable installation projects. This includes ensuring compliance with project contracts and TenneT specifications from the signing of the EPC contract through to the handover to the operations department.

A Sub Project lead Cable Installation has the following key responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Supervise all aspects of the subsea cable installation sub-project, including overseeing the contractor’s design and engineering. Regularly update the Project Lead on progress, challenges, and milestones.
  • Review and Approval: Assess and approve the contractor’s engineering designs, procedures, and activities. Conduct site and vessel visits as required. Select and manage offshore representatives during critical project phases.
  • Technical Alignment: Work closely with TenneT’s internal departments and external experts, including the Marine Warranty Surveyor and relevant authorities, to ensure the highest quality standards for the project.
  • Interface Management: Oversee the interface between the cable installation contractor and offshore stations contractor
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to deadlines, budget, quality standards, HSE guidelines, contract requirements and permit conditions.

Your profile and background

  • Educational Background: Preferably a master’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: minimum of 5-10 years in the offshore wind industry, with hands-on experience in managing and executing projects. Ideally, this includes involvement in offshore cable installation projects.
  • Skills: Team-oriented, strong communication skills, assertive, independent, and open-minded. Fluent in English, both spoken and written. Dutch is an advantage.
  • Attributes: Dynamic, enthusiastic, intrinsically motivated, responsible, and ownership-driven.
  • Other Requirements: Willingness to travel to offshore sites (contractor in Rotterdam and Sweden) possession of a class B driving license, and ability to pass necessary company and offshore medical examinations.

This will be our challenge
