Graduation: Motion Capture 3D Camera for the Truck

Are you a enthusiastic graduate with a passion for technology and innovation? Do you want to contribute to a groundbreaking project within the automotive sector? Then we are looking for you!

As a graduate within the Cabin Product Development department, you will be working on a challenging assignment: developing a method that automatically create 3d figures of the driver's posture using 3d camera's. Next to the truck driver posture, this technique can also be used to log steering wheel and seat position. The method will be used by the DAF Testing Department to gather data. The data will be used in definition of future development projects.

The 3D cameras to use are STEREOLABS ZED2 and the software package to collect and analyze data is UNITY. Your work will directly contribute to enhancing the driving experience and safety of our trucks.

What will you do?

• Set up and conduct experiments with the STEREOLABS ZED2 camera to capture the movements of a truck driver.
• Develop an application in UNITY to visualize and analyze the collected data.
• Collaborate with engineers and product developers to integrate the measuring instrument into existing testing processes.
• Document your findings and present recommendations to the department.

Jouw profiel

You are pursuing a bachelor’s degree in ICT, Computer Science, or a related field.

Furthermore, you have:

• Knowledge of and experience working with UNITY;
• Interest in motion capture technologies and their applications in the automotive or other sectors;
• A proactive attitude, creative problem-solving skills, and good communication abilities;
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
