Position Overview:

Within the B2B segment, Egg acts as a trusted consultant to help Private & Public Sector entities realize their sustainability goals. We leverage market smarts, industry-leading technology & world-class partners to deliver tailored turnkey solutions to our customers, taking the headache out of a fossil fuel-free future.

As the B2B Product Manager, you will be instrumental in driving the performance and evolution of Egg's comprehensive B2B portfolio. You will be obsessed with solving customer problems by molding the right blend of commercial, technical, and operational solutions into unique and compelling market-leading propositions. Your primary responsibility will be to own and enhance both the product range & customer journey to enable our highly ambitious growth and dramatically grow our B2B revenues. You will own a phase of the customer journey: Awareness, Consideration, Decision, Implementation, Post-purchase / Retention through to Contract Renewal and evaluation. You’ll be customer obsessed ensuring our B2B customers experience what it is like to work in partnership with Egg to the point where they become Egg’s ‘true fans’.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Ownership: Own and drive the performance of Egg's B2B products and propositions, encompassing both EVC and solar solutions.
  • Technical Product Definition: Define and select all technical aspects of the products, ensuring they support customer-centric propositions and solutions.
  • Customer Journey Management: Oversee the customer journey, ensuring seamless transitions from interest to sales, delivery, and in-life stages.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various business units to ensure a comprehensive understanding of how the product works and aligns with customer expectations.
  • Product Improvement & Training: Lead working groups from across the business to deliver product improvements, propositions, and associated training.
  • Payment Options: Offer customers multiple payment options, including outright purchases, monthly payment plans, or borrowing capital at competitive rates.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree. Bonus points if it’s in a relevant field such as engineering, business, or environmental science.
  • Product Management Experience: 2-3 years of experience in product management, preferably in the renewable energy or automotive industry.
  • Experience with product development, from ideation to launch, and ongoing product lifecycle management.
  • Fluent in design principles (including design thinking, double diamond or worked in design sprints).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address technical and business challenges that may arise.
  • The ability to adapt to a rapidly changing industry and technology landscape.

Project Management:

  • Strong project management skills to oversee the development and deployment of solar and EV charging products.
  • Ability to set clear goals, manage budgets, and meet project deadlines.
  • Previously managed cross-functional squads focused on testing hypotheses and solving customer problems.
  • Experience working within agile frameworks focused on <2-week release cycles (e.g. Scrum, Kanban).

Market Research:

  • Skill in conducting market research to identify customer needs, competitor analysis, and market opportunities.
  • Ability to use data and market insights to make informed product decisions.
  • Experience using prototypes to conduct product discovery.
  • Comfortable conducting user research and speaking to customers.

Communication:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, customers, and partners.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into clear and compelling product documentation and marketing materials.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and certifications related to solar energy and electric vehicle charging in the UK.

Industry Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of the renewable energy and electric vehicle markets in the UK, including regulations, incentives, and trends will be a bonus.
  • Familiarity with solar energy systems, EV charging infrastructure, and related technologies would be great!

Technical Knowledge (Desired):

  • Knowledge of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, including design, installation, and maintenance.
  • Understanding of electric vehicle charging technologies, standards, and protocols.
  • Familiarity with software and hardware used in EV charging solutions.
  • Digital skills & a passion for technology
  • Ability to understand technical software concepts (no requirement to be an expert)
